Requirements:
B-Series scout suit or better EXO-5 Massdriver or better Flux Grenades BDR-2 or BDR-5 Repair Tool (the vehicle repair variant. Gauged Nanohive 2x Complex Shield extenders 1x Enhanced Armor Plates 1x Basic Armor Repairer (or, if you can't afford the CPU, 2x Basic Armor Plates instead)
Battle field use prerequisite:
Find an an armor dragon (armor tank) and ride upon its back all game.
The reason why this is a scout roll:
The scout's speed and agility allow for you to very easily mount your dragon, as well as, should you be forced to dismount, easily keep up with your dragon, in order to remount it.
Good times:
Use your repair tool to keep your dragon healthy. (you get +25 guardian points per kill)
Duck behind your dragon's head if things get hot and heavy (The turret provides perfect cover).
Should you encounter an enemy shield dragon lob flux grenades and massdriver rounds at it until it is dead.
While your dragon is healthy, randomly fire at any infantry that may pose a threat to your dragon.
Should you run out of ammunition dismount to reload.
If you are expecting to be in a dragon fight with another armor dragon, bring a swarm launcher and AV grenades instead of a massdriver and flux.
Hope you enjoy. |

In D&D 4.0, mounting is only a half action... |

Agreed - we played like 3 sessions, then changed to Pathfinder. The "mounting is only a half action" joke is my only fond memory - and we still use it to this day.
I did try D&D 5.0 alpha - very very unpolished. |

Anything is better than 3.5 though (played it for about 8 years), and I personally won't touch any variant of it
4.0 runs so much smoother too, it's nice to finish a good boss fight in around an hour, instead of knowing I'm gonna be trapped inside for 6 hours as the spell casters try to figure out their turns. 4.0 doesn't spell everything out for you though, so lots of people got put off by that.
As to the OP, this sounds amusing, I would very much love to watch some videos of this lol. |

The problem we had with 4.0 is that the characters all felt cookie cutter only with no customization; also every class felt exactly the same.
If you have't tried Pathfinder, you should give it a go. Paizo added a lot to - must more customizable, and the characters are much more balanced than 3.5 was - hell bards are almost useful! |

Are you kidding? 4.0 is like the youth variant of D&D, its more like a video game than a pen and paper rpg. I enjoy 4e but I don't think of it as D&D. |

I don't share your opinion on 3.5. If your major problem with it was the time wasted by the guys playing spellcasters then it really sounds to me like you need to not let the disorganized, below-average IQ guys play the spellcasters. Those are the guys you gently guide into brick roles.
@Forlorn Destrier
I haven't tried Pathfinder yet, I really want to, it is just finding time to sit down for PnP gaming.
@Herrick Arcos
I agree, 4.0 is the WoW PnP, WoTC sold us down the river for a larger audience. |
