From what I have read about controlling a district, the defender sets when their clones pop and during that time they can be attacked. The attackers bring their clones and they have a 16 v 16 rumble.
Question: What is to stop a corp from setting their timer, then having an alt dummy corp attack them. Then the attackers sacrifice one of their number to the dark god Bhaal and they spend the rest of the combat timer having cart races. Would this make them invulnerable? |

Short answer, no. If the alt corp doesn't have a district, it'll cost 20,000,000 isk for each attack. Biomass sells for 50,000 isk per clone. You would need to sell 400 clones per day to fund the attacks. This would require 7 districts all with production facilities, none of which would be defended. You would also need a way to transfer the funds between corps, so someone would need an alt to shuffle back and forth with the money.
If the alt corp does have a district, it'll only be able to attack once every two to three days (100 clones needed for an attack, clones are produced at a rate of 40-60 per day); and that's assuming that the districts are extremely close, otherwise jump prices will get expensive. This is also assuming that no other corp attacks the alt district. Also, when the district is invaded, clone production ceases, so you aren't making any isk while that's going on. If you set up multiple alt corps to constantly attack, the prices will multiply accordingly, and you lose the exclusive attack window, allowing someone else to sneak in and attack if they're quick enough, and if your spending this much isk and effort to keep the district, someone is probably trying to take it from you. |

Ok, so let me condense what you are saying.
If the alt corp does have a district, (100 clones needed for an attack 50,000 isk per clone) Thats 5M a day to attack if you buy the clones. Taking the clones you build, (3M a day). 5M-3M = 2M net loss, if the district only creates biomass, if it makes anything else then you could loss less or gain more.
So for 4M a day, you can have 2 districts attack each other and never lose either of them.
Thank you,

There is no timer. PC battles are skirmish, only end conditions are clone-out or MCC destruction. If the attackers MCC is destroyed, the defenders get 20% of the remaining attacking clones in biomass, the rest are gone.
Also, with only 250 districts at launch and something like 1,000 corps, your alt district is going to get attacked. Guaranteed. It's pretty much a net loss in isk to alt-attack a district. CCP seems to have thought this through. |

Alright so 5M cost for the 100 clones, then you lose 4M due to MCC being destroyed, and you keep 1M in clones, then if you produce like 60 clones you make 3M. So roughly they cancel each other out and you can keep 2 districts for a null sum game, maybe a little cost.
The main corp attacks the alt to lock it down and the alt attacks the main to lock it down. both 4M cost and 4M gain canceling out.

Can't have two districts attack each other. A district that is under attack is unavailable for any actions, including attacking. District A attacks district B, district A is available to be attacked, however district B is unable to launch an attack. |
