Because you have to remember. CCP's version of a new map is an old map with adjusted redline, spawns, and installation placements With that said, all the maps that we have now CAN be used for the three new maps CCP has promised us.
Biomass Would be the clone production stations (or whatever it's called) Communication would be the research station. And Sky-fire, or that E3 map would be the storage station.
I do not expect CCP to actually make new maps, but rather re-purpose old maps, and label them as new ones just because there may be a new hill somewhere. Or that red lines were adjusted slightly. Thy have done it in the past. They'll probably continue to do it in the future.
There's a good chance we wont receive any real new maps. |

Good. I enjoy these fake new maps, just the other day I saw a box I hadn't noticed before and it was like Christmas!!!! |

Those massive superterrains are going to have redlines placed in all sorts of different configurations. Some of these will overlap current "maps" (playable areas). Some of these will be playable areas separated entirely from those we are currently in.
Between this, adding different environment packs (palette swap, but it seems to make a difference) and changing the infrastructure... I'm still thinking they may be able to pull off unique playable areas and prevent map familiarity between districts. |

Remember when every zone was supposed to be generated based on the way the planet itself was generated in Eve?
And you were going to be able to place the structures around the map prior to an engagement?

Remember when Eve pilots were supposed to be able to hide their POS's inside of dead space pockets, and effectively create their own maze of acceleration gates and nasty NPC's that would guard it?

I am trying to find the "old" video where one of the DEV team was stating that the goal was for a player to never play the same map twice, thousands of planets and thousands of maps.....I think it was near the 2011 E3 time scale that I saw the video. It was actually the video that I was like...seriously, this game is going to be off the hook! Than they opened the beta and had enrollment for free beta keys, never got one. People on the twitter feeds saying " ohh i have 3 beta keys" I was like seriously, anticipate a game and no beta key? But i was finally able to buy a beta spot through the Merc pack, after being rejected like some abnormal crush on a **** star |

I thought the real maps at release were supposed to be as big as you can zoom out now. With redlines only at the edges of the whole thing. You mean it'll be Swiss cheese??? |

MCC Control and purchase stil set for 0.0 conquest mode in Null sec.
PC is low sec and its still a conquest mode lite.
Just right now design is not meeting needs and those features you're wonten for are not schedule for launch in any capacity. |

not sure, I will find it. It was a one on one interview, had planets in the background, and it was about what you can expect from Dust 514, it was about a 7- 8 minute video, and it was said that players would never play the same map design twice. I remember sharing the video with a friend telling her to check it out at the same time asking how it would be possible to never play the same mao, and she replied... on hell of a development team. |
