I don't understand the logic of making the Charge Sniper Rifle (CSR) so much more powerful than the advanced sniper rifles, such as, the Ishukone Sniper Rifle (ISR). The CSR does 57 more hit points, holds the same amount of ammo, fires at the same rate, has the same reload time, but costs less, takes a lot less CPU and PG to operate and only takes a skill level of 2 instead of the level 5 which the ISR requires.
So why would someone want to spend skill points just to upgrade to a less powerful weapon in the field which gives them no clear advantage? It seems to me, the higher the skill level, the higher the damage should be, or at the very least SOME sort of advantage; like number of rounds carried, reload time or fire rate.
Can someone help me to undertand this logic? (if any exists). I feel like I wasted weeks of earning and spending skill points, just to upgrade to a less effective weapon. |

The charge rifle fires far slower than any other rifle. Now that we have that out of the way.. The balance to the slow ROF is higher damage. Just like all weapons in other classes.
You can do a half charge that does less damage, or you can fully charge the rifle to accomplish the full 266 Dam. The half charge is good for a follow up shot. It also has a different mechanic, you have to release to fire vs pull to fire, so timing and patience are paramount. I've been in CQB with a charge and did reasonably well. You just have to be patient, and people rarely realize what's coming..
I heard the Devs are planning to release a lot more weapons, and different sniper rifles will be amongst them. Presumably different charge rifles as well. |

There is no logic, OP. Snipers and non-snipers alike have been asking for the Charge Sniper Rifle to be reassigned for a while. |

And why would you want to put in points? For the passive skills of course. Sure, you can get more damage from a very slow RoF low tiered weapon, and if you wish to continue to use it, more power to ya, but the passive skills that come along with it are the reason for continuing down the SR skill path and getting into proficiency which gives you an additional 3% damage per level. |

Yup that too. But with a charge sniper rifle and SR LV3/weaponry LV5 it's not exactly necessary, even as it helps. I one shot assaults most times, and always scouts. I can even put down heavies in 3 shots.
If I don't kill you outright, your **** is still devastated.. thanks you +25.
But with SR LV5/SR Prof+ it just makes it all the more deadly. |

It's perfect the way it is now. Given, the higher teired weapons could be better, but don't mess with my Charge. |

And if I remember correctly, all snippers after Chromosome were intended to be charge. |

The only problem with the Charge Sniper Rifle, is that there isn't a higher tier version. |

The rifle is fine as is, it should just have a level 4 sniper operation req, not 2. maybe even introduce a more powerful version for proficiency 4 or 5..... |

Anyways, I love my charge. It's powerful and easy to fit, which is pretty important with a Scout dropsuit. |
