Are they using new map features?
Because this battle looked f'ing awesome.
The skybox was from EVE online (I think it was the Caldari nebula?), it had a destroyed Titan(?) in the background, and there was red glowing ash and smoke everywhere.
I loved it!
Gave the maps an awesome feeling. |

I am not sure.
However there are tons of merc battles, much more than before.
They are called Test at the start of the name, so maybe they are testing new stuff. |

It says its a test battle, and yes it looks epic. The falling debris, the darker mood of the map. Pieces of flaming wreckage on the board.....ohhhhhhh its nice :) |

If they could make the whole game look just as awesome I wouldn't be complaining right now.
It puts a very high contrast when half the game looks like PS2.5 level, and the rest looks like PS3.
I hope they fix that for the next update. |

Yeah, I tried to look at the map to see if its actually in the redzone or if its just part of the skybox.
Sadly, its the latter. |

From what I saw, the matches were all tagged with "test" and the titan is still above the planet in space. So my guess is they'll do this event again for real in the future. |
