DAMAGE MOD STACKING
Tweeking ANY Weapon or suit without addressing this first will result in total imbalance
Its hard to test something when another part is broken
Its like trying to see if you fixed your car but you don't have tires or rims.....sure it might start and run but ITS NOT GOING ANYWHERE
To those that actually care about seeing this game do well we need this fixed before any weapon tweeks or suit tweeks
I mean sure your kdr is good and you destroy anything that walks in front of you.......but is it your skill or a broken mechanic......I believe some of you are good players I really do....but if you do this IMHO you cheat plain and simple......
No I'm not mad or butthurt I'm just stating facts
Does anyone else agree?? |

Damage mods aren't any more powerful than shield extenders, even without a stacking penalty.
Please take my word for it and don't make me prove it mathematically again. It'll be a threadnaught. |

Disturbingly Bored wrote: For the sake of example let's compare two suits.
Both have: Assault Vk.1: 225 Shields, 105 Armor base Duvolle Assault Rifle: 34.1 Damage, 750 RPM, 426.25 DPS Lows: 1 armor rep of equal quality, 2x 87HP plates
One guy has 4x Complex Damage mods at 1.1x multiplier each, the other has Complex Extenders, at +66 Shield HP each.
Both have max Weaponry, AR Spec, armor, and shield skills. AR does 110% damage to shields, 90% damage to armor.
Damage mod guy final stats: Shield HP: 281.25 Armor HP: 305.25 DPS: 789.45 (base*1.1 weaponry*1.15 spec*1.1*1.1*1.1*1.1mods)
Shield mod guy final stats: Shield HP: 545.25 Armor HP: 305.25 DPS: 539.20 (base*1.1 weaponry*1.15 spec)
Damage mod guy kills shield guy in 1.058s. Shield guy kills damage mod guy in 0.904s.
TLDR: Shield mods win.

Nice math but I'm not saying this is the ONLY issue
Stacking on either needs diminishing returns
It makes weapons too powerful and shields too strong
Imbalances the heavy too......y spec into a suit for a less accurate shorter ranged weapon when an assault or logi can have just about as much HP as you and move faster AND carry equipment like repping nanos......
Its ridiculous and needs to b fixed b4 nething is needed OR buffed |

Please take my word for it and don't make me prove it mathematically again. It'll be a threadnaught. but theyre more assessable and easy to get max(what 300k SP?) compared to shields the skills(afew million ),your not going to be running up against max shield guys most of the time so not much resistance. |

You could sign me on board for that. It would put a bit more diversity in the game and make some of the non-damage mods/non-extender mids a bit more enticing.
I just don't think one should be stacking penalized without the other getting the same treatment, though.

Very good point, but I don't think it's so unbalanced the way it is currently.
As it stands now, Damage Mods are an easy stepping stone before skilling into shield extenders, though damage mods still lose to shield extenders most of the time. Damage mods are also pretty expensive both ISK and fitting-wise compared to extenders, which makes them less attractive in the long-run as well.
I guess I could see it either way.
I think the folks calling for a universal stacking penalty (not just for damage mods) are definitely onto something though. |

It is true matches are stale right now too.....maybe it would add a small bit of variety to matches...... Plus it would cut down scrubby players who are only decent because of them AND add learning curve
Right now everyone uses the same thing......it gets really boring |

They need it where you can only equip one dmg mod. Be it Complex Enhanced or Basic the choice is yours but only one of them. |

It should but that would be too restricting......maybe it takes the lower or equal powered mod and cuts its effectiveness in half |
