when the wormhole that connected the Earth and New Eden colonies closed, the colonial branch of Earth's government didn't collapse. Surrounded by tribal colonists who wanted their independence, EarthGov had a choice: either be destroyed or go into hiding. They retreated to a remote sector on the fringes of new Eden. It wasn't long before they began to run low on resources. So the strong were forced to prey on the weak: cannibalism. The taste of human flesh eventually drove them insane. So, there they are, the remnant of a great empire, as mad as humanly possible. Then suddenly, they are rediscovered by a Gallente recon unit sent by a prominent corporation to secure the planet for they're corporation. The unit was nearly overwhelmed and was forced to retreat. The planet was promptly blacklisted and quarantined. Fast forward to the current day. A high ranking Gallente official is reviewing cases. He stumbles upon a particular file which catches his interest. The title reads "Planet: CLASSIFIED. contracted by: CLASSIFIED. Forces nearly killed. OPFOR believed to be former officials and agents of EarthGov" Interested, the Gallente official decides to investigate. Once there, he stumbles upon a settlement of harmless looking children. They embrace him, for they sense something...something they've sensed their whole lives. Then, the grown men and women of the settlement emerge, weapons drawn.
They don't shoot.
They know exactly why he came.
He raises his arms and says, loudly,
"All i ask of you is your utmost loyalty to the flag, and the soil of the Earth from which we as a species sprung! I will help you reclaim all that is rightfully yours!"
And thus, The saga begins... |

Oh god, why do people insist on trying to bring Earth back (terribly) into the EVE universe. NOBODY knows what Earth is anymore. Hell, even the Jove, who continued advancing even after the collapse, likely don't remember Earth, it's been over 14,000 years since the EVE gate disaster. (Current year is YC 115, or 23351 AD)
I can appreciate people wanting to immerse themselves in the rich universe CCP created, but please actually read the EVE history before doing your writing.

I made a corp named EarthGov, and yea, i read the lore. I just thought it would be kind of awesome if by some chance Earth's government rose up and started killing stuff |

Why use the Earth when there are so many other things in New Eden? An aggressive splinter faction of the Jove? The Sleepers decide to curb stop the Empire? Or even worse yet the enemy that even the Jove fear (the ones they say are no longer human, also the ones that I want to see the most)? |

Thats where i live!" and then join.
yea i thought up this story after the fact. just thought it would be awesome to have some sort of a backstory for my corp. |

If it is from Earth while are the technologically on par with the Empires? Jove did not fall during the Dark Age but maintained the technological standard of the Home Galaxy same with the others like them. Sleepers are just Jovians who attempted to use cybernetics to cure their genetic plague. |

In my story, earth's government doesn't exactly fall. About over half of them went insane due to eating human flesh. Remember this is earth's government. Those still loyal to them fled alongside them, meaning there could be millions of them, waiting within the ranks of every faction, waiting for the chance to regroup with the core of EarthGov, which was forced to hide on this planet in the story. As for the main EarthGov settlement being technologically on par with the empires, I never said they were. They were bound to have a couple rusty m16's layin around |

The governments of the Home Galaxy at least according to the original still photo opening of EvE were massive corporations like the Caldari State. How the genetic engineering of the Jove changed them in ways that may be completely alien even in fue Home Galaxy. Though currently none in the Four Empires even know of Earth that has been lost for nearly twelve thousand years. |

So, for 14k years, a splinter sect of the earth government has been in hiding? How has it evolved in 14k years? Have certain practices become ritualized? What minor things about the original organization have become monoliths of their culture? Do they maybe worship their |

What parts of their society would those from the Home Galaxy remember? What minor things on Earth are really important in such a secluded society? How did they gain both Capsuleer tech (Jovian) and Mercenary tech (sleeper)? These are important fluff details to work out. |

If anything wouldn't earth be much more advanced? Or could someone point out lore that shows that the closing of the Eve gate affected earth also? |

There is nothing beyond that to my knowledge. I am not even sure their ruins exist in WHs or other sites like the Sleepers and other lost empires can be found. They could be presumably just as active if not more so in the affairs of lesser beings.
For some reason I imagine them as Cthulhu in space by the way he described them. |

A lot of decent stories have some plot holes. Its not like he's trying to push his thoughts into the lore itself. It would be pretty interesting to read some spin-offs from good writers. |

By the original opening they had come to New Eden to end the wars ripping the Home Galaxy apart. All of the galaxy had been claimed and this was a chance to start over and give Humanity that rebirth. The virgin colonies of New Eden could not sustain themselves on their own and collapsed in a dark age that lasted more than ten thousand years. Without New Eden and resources claimed in the Home Galaxy what was stopping that old war from restarting? |

I'm not trying to shut down his idea (well, kinda...EARTH?! The gall!), just trying to improve the quality of the idea. It needs to be expanded, because the holes right now are unforgivable. This IS the creative process. |
