As an assault user, I think the Assault rifle recoil is dumb in its current form. First of all, unless you unload 30-35 bullets from the clip, you will be still pretty much pinpoint on the target. And if you do reach the 30 bullets mark, just tap and hold the fire button for a micro second and the recoil is 100% reset. No, not stop firing, just tap it and suddenly your merc goes back to pinpoint accuracy all over again.
So unloading a full clip without losing accuracy is pretty much a no brainer. |

I thought this supposed to be a Futuristic game. If the HMG gets more accurate the longer you shoot, why the AR should have any recoil ?
In case you didn't notice.. everything is outside down in Dust 514.

I understanding what your talking about though. Its hard to explain but something about it is just off. I guess there should be a longer delay until it resets. Battlefield got it right, it takes like 0.6 seconds for it to reset. In Dust its instant, and that time makes a difference. |

Halo is another alternative to look up, they had what I would like to call weapon's cadence. Fire at the weapon's cadence and suffer no recoil just about, shoot faster than that its going to go all over the place. So managing weapon's fire was fine art mix of just right dps and accuracy.
As for Dust 514s its hard to tell, I generally hate shooters on the PS3 for a variety of reasons the primary one being pegging or how when you look around it feels that the camera operator has pegs on it. Dust 514 has this the least on the horizontal but on the vertical I have yet to find a sensitivity setting to get rid of it. |

I'd like weapons to be quite diverse from one another, sure it makes things harder to balance but it's more fun having an eclectic mix of weapons. I'm fine with HMG's getting more accurate as they fire, if they need toning down then they should be nerfed by changing a few stats rather than by taking away the unique function of the weapon. |

You do realise that you're a super strong, super fast, super whatever clone, wearing a suit with a fairly high mass, so that the recoil is very manageable?

Even if not... Elijah's post seems well-reasoned. And? This is an f'ing video game, balance comes before realism. (160m max range for the AR, heard about that?) What's the point of having recoil if its barely noticeable and can be removed by simply tapping the button once and then firing as usual? You see all of those people complaining that AR is too easy? That is the reason, its too damn good at even longer ranges. If it had proper recoil you could still hit things but good luck killing them. Also you would have a reason to use the Tactical AR after the nerf. |

Have you even try the Tactical AR yet ? is the most useless weapon in Dust 514. |

When your average AR does the job better at even long ranges, why use the TAC AR? It needs a damage buff sure, but even then it would be pointless until CCP fixes how recoil works. |

If they make the Tactical AR an useful gun to use... then yes, add more recoil to the standard AR. Agreed. |

Just think " Illogical " is the new Normal. Except objects that spin fast are more stable than those that spin slowly. There are examples of guns that doubled their ROF and achieved greater accuracy.
It's actually explained why the HMG gets better accuracy as it spins up.
The AR resetting the recoil immediately is however something that looks like a bug / incomplete feature. |

Only question about recoil. Is if the change it now before we are able to get the optics back, how do we know how the will act with them? If you change it before that is tested then we are all looking at a change again later down the road because something was not tested before it was adjusted.
Believe me that little kick it has now will no where be the same if you were shooting with an optic.
As for HMGs in most games the machine guns other than the SMG has better grouping the longer the trigger is held. It was the same way in BF3 in the beginning but it was changed at a later date. It reduced the effect because it was not all that far at severe long range because you could hold down the trigger with massive ammo count and make a pinpoint suppression wall(sorry cat i know that part was off topic). |
