Other games (like the Battlefield series) have vehicles, and repair mechanics that give points. How do they deal with drivers damaging their own vehicles so repairers can get points for repairing them?
There has to be a solution besides denying points for vehicle repairs; it discourages teamwork between infantry and pilots. |

Couldn't it be like Triage points, where points are only given if the vehicle has damaged/been damaged by an enemy in the past x seconds? |

I believe Battlefield only lets gets you repair points if the tank is being driven. I remember repairing tanks without driver don't get you points. |

This is true. They also have a cooldown timer so that you can't just repair continuously.
That being said, it was a known exploit to start with that you could shoot your own EOD bot in hardcore and then repair it, rinse and repeat. People leveled super fast this way until DICE nerfed it and reset all the people they caught.
In Bad Company people would flip the humvee and then repair it continuously while it tried to blow up (auto destructs when its upside down) |

Wonder if you can repeatedly bump a couple logistics LAV's into each other while having a nice chunk of buffer HP and the smallest possible remote reps to farm exp :) |

Well in MAG if you damaged your own vehicle you could repair it but you didn't get any points, you only got points if the vehicle had been damged by an enemy. At first it was a case of if its damaged and you repair it you get points no matter how it was damaged but allot of people started xp farming on vehicles so they changed it to the above so it is potentially something that could get patched in. |

He didn't say that you do get points in dust he was asking how other games handle it because you used to get points but they took it out due to wp farmers. |

BF3 doesnt have nukes from orbit so it really doesnt matter
The fix is simple
You only get points if the damage is caused by the enemy, if its self inflicted damage then no points |

Was going to say this. MAG had it (eventually) so that only enemy damage gave points (both for vehicles and infantry) |
