Currently you get a flat 25 wp for repping with any repair tool. In essence this means that you can reach your soft cap quicker and easier (thus receiving more wp) by repping with the militia or standard repair tool vs. the advanced or proto tools. This makes no sense and is completely backwards. Leaving the debate on the soft cap aside, I think the amount of wp you receive should increase incrementally based on the amount of rep you are giving. I feel like I am losing out on wps by using better repair tools. |

Ha! If you get any WP at all!
I gave up repping in favour of a nanohive because I'm always running out of ammo (and the fact it didn't get me any WP half the time). Last night however saw myself picking up the repair tool for the first time in a long time to repair a heavy who was on about 10% health. I repped him to full and received NO WP.
When they fix this problem then we can discuss extra WP for higher tier tools.
With that said, I like the idea, more WP for more repping. |

I don't believe better gear should reward you more. I use a Vaziam LR (80,000 ISK) and I don't get anything extra. I play as a logi and I carry an advanced RT and NI and I don't think more of anything should be given to merc because they carry better gear. All is fair in love and war, the points should be fair too. |

DUST is about destroying unfortuantely. Do not expect CCP to reward you for going up the stream  .
As for repair WP. The message appears with delay and you can't do this too often in a row. But i bet you know that...
And don't give up on being a logi. Your reward is something a lot better than lowly WP/ISK/SP  |

You do get something extra. You get to kill quicker thus earning you wp faster. The way it stands I earn wp faster by repping with a militia/standard repair tool. That makes no sense.

I'm not saying I want any more wp than is already given by running with militia/standard repair tools. I just don't want to be penalized by running with a more advanced tool. It's the only instance of that occurring in Dust. By running a proto repair tool, I'm leaving wp on the battlefield. |

Better tools top armor/shield quicker than militia grade. You are rewarded with the chance to do logi job quicker and flee thous spare your team a clone or two. I agree they are consumable. That will change when you can buy BPO on market. Then (i thnik) you will never run out of your expensvie gear... |

You aren't making sense. I'm talking about losing out on wp. You're talking about surviving. Any good logi knows to shoot first repair later. I'm leaving wp on the battlefield by using a better repair tool which is not how it should be. |

The upper tier tools repair more armor per cycle, so it requires fewer cycles to top off a damaged merc.
You get WPs per cycle. The more cycles the more points.
If you rep someone with a militia tool it might require four cycles yielding 100 points.
If you use a prototype tool it might require only two cycles yielding 50 points.
Yes you saved two repair cycles and that's great. But is it worth the penalty of half your reward, especially at the huge increase in ISK cost?
Most Logis, myself included, say no. |

I understand your arguments guys... But i think Devs will not help logis out in this particular matter. We are supposed to kill in DUST not save lives. CCP won't give equal incentives for kill and not  Sorry...
This thread is another take on the issue... No Dev addressed any one of them... Maybe it is a hint? To just get over it and do your merc job maybe?

Actually you receive more points for saving lives rather than killing. The merc job of a logi is to kill AND support. What makes no sense is the way the wp system is set up I could easily talk myself into using a standard rep tool rather than a proto tool, thus getting more wp and getting more orbitals.
This is a beta and things like this are getting addressed all the time. With as many logis talking about this issue as there are, I think we will hear something eventually. I can honestly see how easily it has been overlooked because it is such a subtle nuance of the system. |

I would have hoped for a simple bit of feedback by now that they recognise the issue and plan on addressing it so we could stop requesting changes. |
