CCP, shouldnt you turn your attention to the broken game mechanics?
Terrible Hit detection Unable to traverse uneven terrain Poor controls all around for vehicles, dropsuits and interfaces. Text, font, icons, reticule, and other HUD items that are color washed invisible half the time. Ridiculous low fov for an fps. Invisible walls in every map
This is only the beginning. What is being done to fix these issues? |

Please STFU, this is the result of work load from two completely different DEV teams. Yes there are issues, yes they both work for the same company, and yes again on the same product. I have no issues hitting a scout going full speed from the side or when he is doing his dance in front of me and the bullets hit where i intend them to hit unless a moment of wild Derp aiming apears out of nowhere. |

I would like to see any of the mercs with the same view leave the game to go make their own. I would have to guess it would work perfectly everytime for everyone from day one. Stop crying. |

I honestly had no hope any Dev would read through that 18 page slosh fest to respond to my post, so I made this a thread of its own. But hey I was wrong, major props to that dev for keeping up with that. Also this is the first time, since June of 2012, that an actual dev has responded to my suggestion about basic gameplay saying that they are indeed working on it. Maybe there is reason to be hopeful.
Thats right, all you kiddies saying stfu: Ive been here longer than most of you scrubs. So maybe I have a right to be a little impatient with these failings. But just to humor some of you extra chromosomes I'll give you the run down. You obviously havent been around long enough to notice some of the invisible walls and detections issues.
- Most objective points are surrounded by 4 blast shields and a main tower that are placed around the hacking console. These models infact do have invisible obstructions around the edges that can make it impossible to shoot an opponent who is standing still in fully clear view. The bullets are hitting the invisible walls and the enemy takes no damage.
- Other building structures have invisible walls like this, such as the pipes around objective E on Ashland. Though those are actually enjoyable as they allow me to run circles around scrubs who are just stunned that I can walk on air.
- The hit detection issues I reference are not while 'scouts be sprinting'. Im talking about an opponent literally standing still no matter what his frame size and not taking damage from direct hits. If youre particularly low in intellect/skill you may not notice issues with reg and I cant really help you out there.
If it were worth my time I could catalog all the instances of invisible obstructions, but from my past years experience I doubt a dev would give it any thought and just ignore what I have to say |

So, just to give you an idea of how awesome the next release will be, this whole planetary conquest thing is all being done by the on DUST team here in Iceland. And that is not all we are doing. On top of planetary conquest we have our entire office in China working away. O_O
So yea, while I can't tell you what else is coming (something about wanting to keep my job), please by no means take our work on planetary conquest as proof we are not working on every other aspect of the game. So much more I want to say but can't. For now you will have to take my word. Lots of other stuff to come. |

That comes from trying to load your fittings or 'restocking' during certain transition periods such as spawning. Just do your fittings stuff in merc quarters, and never try to restock while you are spawning in combat.
Again I documented this but no Dev acknowle |

I have to say that I have seen a lot of what you are talking about.
I would also like to say thought these invincible walls around the objectives that you are talking about seem to act shields for the objective. This I feel has to do with a later mechanic that is only partially put into the game right now in that objectives may be able to be destroyed when dealt a really large amount of damage. I have feel this way because the objectives when hit give you a hit marker. Again this maybe me going off on my hopes for the future.
As for other structures doing this well that is something else and is something that needs to be looked at and probably will be fixed in time yes it may not be when you want it but oh well.
As for hit detection the only problem I ever see of hear about that is even noticeable here is the whole sniper round not dealing damage. As for any other weapon that could be hard to track since are most fully auto and have a hard time tracking the damage per bullet. And not to be anal but it could be the hit box if you are not hitting someone unless you see a hit marker. |

Sounds like someone needs to learn about the Mythical Man Hour!
If you want something done ... you can't just have more people work on it to be done faster. It doesn't work that way.
If I wanted to type faster I can't get someone else to also type on my keyboard and we'd go faster. Just a big incoherent mess of text would come out. This is was programming is like. So if they have a team working on the improvements and they have a separate team working on planetary conquest shouldn't be upsetting because having that second team also work on issues may not just make it happen quicker. More likely the fixes would just be as bugging because all the programmers stepping on each others toes. |

I misunderstand what you meant by invisible walls. I have seen what you describe. I attribute the problem to the collision meshes being over simplified relative to the visible mesh.

We are in Beta. this isn't a mature game. stupid ship pops up all the time, some things take twice as long as they should, rarely does anything take half as long as you expect. people get pulled off to address something nobody expects.
Beta is not an environment transparency works in, not because they cannot be transparent, but rather because under-delivering is never acceptable to "us". I don't mean that as you or me or even necessarily anyone who actually takes the time to read forums, I mean the bigger "us" that never hits the skill cap, that spawns into a camped CRU (over and over again) the "us" that buys only a little Aurum per person but outnumbers us 100 to 1.
calm, it will happen eventually.
