I join a match that is redlined with next to no hope of getting out because tanks, snipers, and av are covering it too well. So I get my droplink fit, call a lav, and drive right at a tank as fast as I can. The tank blows me up and I automatically respawn at a cru or objective that we do not control. Place my droplink somewhere and I've done my task of getting behind the front lines with a droplink. CCP must know about the bug because we used to get spawned in different map areas far far in the redzone and we now always get spawned in the same map.
Now everyone knows about this bug, but how frequent is it for you? The speed of the lav at the time of destruction seems to be a factor. I ask this because I just successfully used this tactic to do exactly that and took only one try. |

That is a Feature. Albeit a feature enable via Suicide but I will try it.
Just to see if the bug is still there. In the interest of Beta Testers needing to be very thorough.
Yep, that is the only reason and I am sticking to it. |

Was going to post this myself as I had two instances in the last few days. Both times I joined a game which was sitting at 150/150 clones, had all the points taken by the reds, who themselves had clearly had enough time to set up a fortified position with turrets covering our spawn, and the MCCs showing minor damage that would correlate with the game running for a few minutes prior to joining.
I suggest next time you join a game like this, take note of any squads on the opposing team. That way we can get some idea of whether this is an exploit or a server bug that's not filling games evenly until it's too late. In one of my games there was a full squad of Maphia Clan camping our spawn, and I'm not accusing anyone of anything specific but it'd help if the people on the other side of these games can tell us what happened from their end.
(Also, crappy thread title. Try to at least include some information on what a thread is about in the title. Click baiting is not much use in General Discussion where threads slide off the front page in less than an hour.) |
