With the just recently announced changes to the salvage system it is inevitable that AUR gear will make its way into the hands of players who never spend real world money in DUST 514.
Any arguments that any gear purchasable with AUR is "Pay to Win" now have less weight than ever.
Many of us here in the Beta have countered argument sthat AUR weapons, suits, equipment and vehicles were Pay to Win with a hypothetical vision of the open player market that solves all. This was problematic, even though it seems most likely that all available items will eventually be bought and sold in that market for ISK, because it relied on an AUR paying player voluntarily selling off a portion of their gear for ISK.
Yes, this should happen when players skill out of certain items and no longer need them, but the control of all AUR items was still left in the hands of the AUR players and any players that did not want to spend AUR were still dependent on the largess of the "Pays to WIn" crowd.
Now (well, sometime before the end of the year) all we will need to do is get some of these AUR gear toting players into battles for planetary conquest, kill their clones and steal their stuff. |

Or buy it from all the people that will purchase AUR gear for the purpose of reselling it in order to generate ISK, including EVE players. |

LOL if i would have AUR stuff i would NEVER sell it for ISK since i would have a LOT of ISK
AUR items help a LOT in battle to WIN
Doubt anyone would sell AURUM stuff for ISK , unless its CCP doing it.

Seriously, it's not like I can't grind for ISK. All people who buy Aurum are doing is trading time for money. Now if they want to grind and buy Aurum items to sell... well good for them. |

I would if I had the money. I'd rather have geared teammates than undergeared ones in combat, even if that means I stand to lose "more" (I'm getting ISK though, which would be useful for other things, possibly) in the process. |

The hilarious part of this is when the people who refuse to buy so called "pay to win items" get to use them from salvage; they'll realise that they actually weren't that great, had huge PG and CPU requirments, and literally only represent a step up on the meta scale, something they could use anyway with isk.

I don't know about that; EVE players can pay for their accounts with ISK so I wouldn't put it past them to charge large sums of ISK for AURUM items. |

Yea, they will. No one buys a PLEX with real cash and then uses it to extend their subscription. They buy it for cash and sell it for ISK. Same thing with the AUR items. A PLEX is a single thing, you can't really risk moving them and there's always someone looking to do something crazy on the market and screw everyone up. Then you're out your $15 US. AUR items will be easier to move since you don't have to have several hundred million ISK sitting in your cargohold when you undock. It will provide a way for players to trade smaller amounts of real money for ISK which will make it attractive to more players.
So yes, lots and lots of AUR items will be purchased by EVE players for the express purpose of generating ISK.

I know a couple items that will be selling for dirt cheap... the toxin smg and dragon fly scout suit. I have a couple of them and only need one. Many probably will also sell off their extras. The other items that we actually have to purchase with aur will probably go for a high price as can be seen by the aur items in eve. The free aur they gave out to eve players, made the cheap aur items into cheap isk items, but the expensive aur items were still expensive isk items.
The boosters and bpo's will end up being the same as a plex in eve. Need some extra isk, then get some of the aur items and sell it off. However, I'm not so sure how well the market will do because there really isn't any high priced isk gear that we really need in dust. In eve, I bought a plex to buy my 400 mill isk orca (it was awhile ago), but there isnt anything like that in dust yet. |

-the 'tether' regulator has the same 25/25% stats as the complex one, but its cpu and pg is 24/2 compared to 35/3. it costs 40 aur. -the "cistern" nanohive resupplies ammo at a rate of 18.8% and also repairs armor compared to the regular k17/d that replaces ammo at a 14.1% rate and repairs armor. it costs 70 aur. -the fused locus grenade.. well you need to get them thru mercenary packs, but it's basically a standard locus grenade that explodes on contact where the normal one must be cooked.
what do you guys really think about those items? |

"Loot is a percentage of the items lost in the battle such as vehicles, drop suits, and weapons. This includes Aurum items."
