The Caldari were a founding member of the Federation.
It was the Caldari's betrayal of the founding principles of the Federation that they helped to make which precipitated the Gallente-Caldari War. If the greed-mad megacorporate puppetmasters of Caldari Prime hadn't been building secret colonies and military instillations in "unexplored" star systems to avoid paying taxes and complying with laws that they supposedly supported, there would have been no war.
The bombardment of Caldari Prime was brought about by the Caldari murder of half a million innocents in Nouvelle Rouvenor. Then, in order to bypass the blockade and cripple Gallente military might on the surface, Caldari Admiral Tovil-Toba murdered another two million innocents by crashing his ship into the city of Hueromont.
Our ancestors did not start the Gallente-Caldari War. We did not start the Empyrean War.
With luck, our actions today will prevent the Empyrean War from spreading until it engulfs all of New Eden and burns everything to ash. I like being immortal. That's a little hard to do when there are no cloning facilities left. |

Terrorist attack by the Caldari lead to the ultra-nationalist getting power in the first place but no you just had to politically kill off the president and most of the senate back then. |

No free gear for this one? What's the incentive for a merc. to join a battle without knowing which side (s)he will be deployed on? |

Political excuses to cover up the fact you wanted everything that the Caldari had built up from the ground up with no help from the federation
When you didnt get what you asked for you decided to send in the troops using the 'incident' as an excuse to do so, no one knows who caused the explosion bcause no one was allowed to investgate which sounds like a cover up and looks like a cover up and it prob was a cover up
Blow up your own city, kill a few lives for the greater good and use it as an excuse to declare war on the Caldari so you can take over
Then bomb Caldari Prime which mostly had civilians on the planet, the only way to evac them off was for our Admiral Tovil-Toba was so sacfirice his life and lifes of his crew by suiciding into your home planet to buy us sometime |

I don't know about you guys, but when I am faced with the option of two evils, the lesser one is the one that I'd most likely choose.
I may be Gallente, but I myself don't like Mentas Blaque. I would embrace my Caldari roots, but Heth wants me dead both for being Gallente-blooded and for being a clone soldier. I think I'd rather have the facist in the democracy than the genocidal paranoid in the "meritocracy" (it really isn't a meritocracy when the Executor has so much power that he could pretty much command the 8 Megas, which feels more like an autocracy in the end). At least in the Federation you'd be treated more as a human being and won't be sacrificed en-mass because of the actions of one screwball.
If you are Caldari, just take up the help of the Federation now, and once you don't feel the threat of the Caldari purge, you can go back there. The alternative would be to head over to the Empire and pray they do |

Death to Heth!
I know that I had some fun in one of the last matches of the night wreaking havoc on the Caldari side:

The "great divine spirit Persecution" makes a good point.
Of course, if you do go to the Empire, the emphasis will be on the word "pray". |
