So I found this out the hard way. My PS3 all of a sudden started graphic freezing on me when playing in games which is nothing new for dust but it had not hard froze on me in a very long time and this was now occurring even on a first game.
It took me some time and a nice suggestion from a fellow corpmate to narrow down the problem. I had a large list of chat channels that I was part of, some like LFBATTLE, Zion TCD, etc that had a good amount of players in them.
You don't think about it but those chat channels are always running while you are in game and playing. I reduced my channels from about 9 down to 4 small rooms. The results were obvious, I stopped freezing and it even seemed to run smoother for me.
This was not a one time thing and I tested it out enough to draw the conclusion that chat channels are causing additional lag and frame problems for people and should be looked into at some point. So if you are hard freezing where you've had to hard reset your PS3, look at how many large chat channels you have open and consider leaving some.

I'm having the freezing problem, but only have 2 small chat channels open. I'll close them and see if that changes it. |

OP, they stated they are working on this issue already. Why post a known, acknowledged and being addressed problem? |

Started having this issue two days ago and got rid of some channels and now no freeze issue.
BTW I did not have to be in game for this to happen I could be anywhere and it would happen.
