1. It seems that mine will poof into thin air after a while. Like say I am hanging around C, just holding fort and waiting for the next wave of reds to come by. I will always plant a bomb on the point I am holding (hiding it of course). But sometimes it will just be no more. I have seen it happen and it just seems to stop existing.
2. Do they have a range?

1. They could've been destroyed. I've become aware of them enough that I'm no longer killed by remote explosives while I'm hacking, and instead blow them up. Ofc, sometimes I'm standing too close when I destroy them and still die.
2. Since I doubt you mean a limited blast radius (if so, yes they do, mr derpdederp), I have no idea if they have a limited range as to how close you need to be to detonate them, but I assume they don't. I believe every time I pressed the detonator and didn't get a kill, I heard an explosion beforehand. |

they will on ocasion disapear from your minimap (and out of sight as far as the blue markings go) but they will still be there, if you really want to check on them just wander close and look at them and they will re-apear.
They can and will be blown up so your going to have to learn to hide them in unobvious spots (or use the crappy map meshing to your advantage and hide them in the map meshing out of sight)
You can actually hide them under objects on ocasion with some practice, they can still be blown up by those cautious types, but they wont be seen)
Yes they have a blast radius, i dont remember if its displayed in the info tab but the higher level you go the better the blast radius
They have unlimited range, ive placed them at A on he MP map and droped down at the base in the redzone on the complete opposite side of the map and ive still managed to set them off for a few kills
Keep in mind that using them soly for killing folks trying to hack has its ups and downs as people get used to the trick, you will find that it only works about half the time right now and will work less and less as time goes on unless your very sneaky about it.
They work REALLY well as bait tactics, shoot a guy a tiny bit and run around a corner placing a RE along the way, when he comes around the corner blow it up and the poor guy with it.
This method has 100% succes rate with me as long as they take the bait and follow you around the corner. |
