Perhaps a little less "compact" than I would like I have to admit. This is a quick montage I've made from the clips I put aside for a planned instrutcional vid with commentaries that I will never bother to make...
So instead of tossing it all in the bin I slapped some of the clips together and made this little thing...
Points to notice: - In the first clip I toss a nanohive only to have it dissapear, damn you CCP, this is such an basic issue, I was going to restock ma nades and get that fatty.... - Notice how I in the second clip use a nade simply because I'm almost out of AR ammo. - Notice how early I start to cook the nades before going into some situations, its better to waste a nade than to need a cooked one in hand going around a corner, at least until friendly fire gets turned on... - Notice how I antisipate enemy movements and stay for a very large part of he time behind cover. - The kamikaze style run into someones face and let it loose 0,5 of second before it is blown is not reccomended. - Expect to blow yourself up some times during the process of learning the timeing exactly.
Any question about nades and I'm all yours...

This demonstrates very well the point I was trying to make about a week ago, fused grenades are far too close to a win button.
Before you say it, I know you used regular grenades in these videos too. However you also displayed how easy to abuse fused grenades are with an ammo source. You didn't really do it yourself, but you showed how easy it would be to do so.
That said, great videos. Loved most of the music, though I've heard Dennis Leary's ******* song a few too many times too still find it enjoyable. =( Shame too, it's such a fun song the first few times you hear it.
Lastly, thanks for the uploads. I love watching fellow Dusters tearing it up out there, especially people I know to an extent. +1 |

As a dedicated busy nader I don't agree about the Fused Locus nades.Yes they are very good when someone sneaks up on you but thats almost all. They have less blast radius and do less damage. Given the choice I'd much rather have the M1 nades. They can be bounced off walls, be made to explode over someones head, timed differently for various ranges and they are also faster. Yes they need to be cooked and it takes time, they will however leave your hand the instant you let L2 go, not like the direct hit ones that have about a second delay. Another vital point is that this was shot some time ago, they are not nearly as good now when assault players run around with 700HP....
For the record, I have used every opportunity to "abuse" the few fused nades I had from the merc pack...
And I agree about the Leary song, it was just too fitting.
More vids will come. I hope to do a 40 kill ambush but I can't get over 39 damnit. |

Before the reset I had those lovely M1's and I think my highest was 8 kills with one on the bowl map. The standard ones I have right now are great, but I just can't get over 3 kill for some reason. |

With regular locust grenades, my highest kill is 5. As for M1's, I couldn't tell you because I usually throw 2 at a time and save them for sticky situations, so I'm not really keeping an eye on the points popping up. With fused, I got 4 with one but only after softening up the group with another one.
I'll let the fused grenades go though because after finding out that they were part of a scout suit set, I'm no longer concerned. I would still like to see the resupply rate halved for grenades, but that's for all grenades not just fused. Get the first grenade resupplied upon contact with the aura or supply depot radius, then have the rest come in at half the rate they do now. I don't know why, but grenade spamming is the one thing that bothers me the most, despite the fact that I love Mass Drivers. A bit hypocritical I suppose.
And as for the Bj++rk in there, it does take a pretty open mind musically speaking to enjoy it. I didn't know who it was, but it was a nice tune. It's odd... I can listen to Bj++rk when I can't tolerate country western music, which is a lot more common (especially here in the US..... **shudders**) |

I was expecting another second rate video of some guy showing off his disappointing epeen, but you sir, and I don't hand out complements often, are an artist. Your timing and aim are spot on. The video does a great job of showing how horribly most people use grenades as well, I always laugh when people throw grades, until some one like you subverts my expectations, ***holes.
I pray I never meet you in a match.
PS I've been knowingly handy capping myself, as I've always felt grenades were not worth the effort to learn to use effectively, but this has shown me how many situations ive doomed my self in by not trying. Excellent thread +1 |

yea I find taking stupid LAVers off the field to be a better use of the slot 90% of the time.
and a little Bj++rk goes a long way but that was a good use of that little bit. |

Thank you sir, you just made my day! (Yeah I know, its kind of sad...)
And this vid is sort of "second rate" in my opinion, not fast or fancy enough to be a proper montage. That was not my goal since I needed to keep most of the clips long enough to let you see what situation I'm in before spreading my explosive love bombs. |

I prefer to think of it as, as advertised, not second rate. |

There's a difference between a well-made artistic montage, and a well-made demonstration montage. Yours is the latter. You've shown the scenario better than most montages do, because they focus on the artistry of the editing, rather than the artistry of the gameplay.
Not that either approach is better or worse, obviously. Just... different. I like it. |

I'm a noobie sniper, so nades for me are little more than a panic button ... and I even killed myself a few times fumbling around with Fused Locus ones, though a couple of times it looked like I was a dead man anyway and a seppuku is preferable to an enemy's AR any day =P
Anyway, I'm mainly writing for the song in the video. I loved it! I've been listening to it all day! :o
I vaguely remember hearing the name Bjork before, but I haven't looked her up yet. I hope I won't be disappointed again, like I was with Cage the Elephant, after falling in love with Ain't No Rest for the Wicked (Borderlands intro). Yeah, totally different songs/genres, but in both cases I just fell in love with both the execution and the lyrics of the song. With Cage though, every other song of theirs I listened to just didn't work for me at all. I hope this isn't the case with Bjork as well. I mean, her voice in Mutual Core is beyond angelic! :o
*ahem*
Sorry, for the stream of consciousness rambling! =P |
