How great is Unreal?
Lets see...
Less than a week after Unreal was first announced, id Software stopped pushing their "unprecedented" storytelling and single player campaign focus and added the subtitle "Arena" onto Quake 3's title, announcing that it was going to be almost entirely multiplayer-oriented with a token single player that's just AI botmatches to set you up for real players.
When you can bring about a backpedal that large, that fast, from a company that well-known (particularly considering when this happened), you've got to be doing something right.
How great is the Unreal ENGINE? That's a whole different story, but I would imagine that the Arkham Batman games and High Moon's recent Transformers titles can give a solid argument in favour of it being pretty good. |

If they haven't yet my prediction is that they will, they have the right people on board to make it happen.
As a warning the symptoms that let you know its coming are:
1. Constant DC's by said people when ever you end up in a Corp Battle or a pub match that they can not win. This allows them to not take blame for the loss and pad there KDR. I know from experience and I watched it happen time and time again. My mistake was not calling the BS when I saw it happen!! Most notably the battle we had with the imperfects. Our 2 key players, mysteriously DC'd after the Imps pushed us off objectives with tanks. This happened to many times to be a coincidence! These people are now in Unreal.
2. There supposed game god image allows them to form an elitist click within the corp, followed by players impressed with there padded KDR.
Next they will drop your corp and take there group of followers with them claiming that the corp is finished because its nothing without them in it!.
I don't know eclipse, but all I can say is keep your eyes open....its coming.
Im not saying names because I don't have to, after reading this...anyone who knows these people will know exactly who I am talking about! |

Ecplise is bumble bee from back in closed beta. He was known for leaving battles against good players or "dc'ing" when he was getting stomped. So leadership supports kdr padding
All he has done it taken some tritan members and recruited kdrs from the leader board. unreal was barely around a month before good players started leaving. They are already fading away. Funny thing is they were never much to begin with

This is about the Unreal Engine, surely?
It's good, it's platform agnostic, it's powerful and easy to use, and personally, I think it's more flexible than Id tech. |

I'm relatively new to UnReal, but I'm enjoying it. Don't need to be the best, but they do have a lot of fun. I haven't seen any drama yet, and that's more than I can say for most corps. |

quake 3 was awesome, now its quake live. watching pros in that game make me feel very small |
