What you see there is an Assault Caldari suit using a Forge gun. It is evident from the blue color, and lack of armor that this is not a Heavy suit. |

The other explaination is that it was just a promo video made by the video people who arn't constrained by game mechanics.
EG: The laser raven. The pirate black ops battleship.
That being said, another explaination might be that it was a placeholder for a caldri heavy suit not ready yet.

It's not really a new model since the suit and weapon are separate models. The current weapon model is simply "attached" to the model of the suit and since the skeletons appear to be all the same size (or at least scalable) then creating an animation would probably take only a few moments.
Not an expert and not correcting you just to look cool but I don't think that's really substantial evidence to support the theory. |
