So each suit is original logistic can hold a lot of equipment making them support, heavies have a lot of natural shield or armor and can use heavy weapons, assaults are a standard I know many people say standard bleh and don't want it but in a lot of games like battlefield 3 the guy with a machine gun and pistol is used a lot. Out of all the protos I have seen the assault used the most they are popular. Scouts however aren't that good they are mostly specialized for their speed however putting a sniper on them isn't that smart. If you snipe in a scout suit chances are you will be one shotted by another sniper it is why lot's of people put snipers on their assault or logistic suits. They have a good amount of speed but wont be one shot by the enemy, scouts can't hold a lot of equipment either. So putting down a hacked drop uplink and nanohives at the same time is difficult. A lot of people like to use shotguns on their scout but being close up with paper thin armor and shield is never smart logistic actually have a speed suit for one less equipment that holds lot's more modules and natural armor and shield. So why use a scout suit? Because it is the sniping suit even though you can modify sniping to other suits. So why use a scout suit you could save the skill points for something else so I think personally scout suits deserve a bonus.
I was thinking give snipers the ability to scout enemys to other snipers in their close proximity only, also give them the ability to add resistance and an extra shield buff when near an ally if that ally is a scout/sniper and is close enough, also allow snipers to go prone they are in the most flexible suits so would be best for crawling on mountains and dirty terrain. Also give scout suits a natural skill that adds sniper damage or sniper range. Scout suit skill gives 4% optimal sniper range for every level put into scout suit this would keep other suits off the sniper rifle because they wouldn't receive that natural bonus.
Spotting would work like this two snipers in scout suits are sniping close together one hits select on an enemy they see a red tag appears over that enemys head. The resistance works when two snipers are near each other they would glow white or something indicating the shield buff is working and say 50+ shield and a %5 resistance would be added. Snipers also going prone would allow them to sneak sometimes I just can't get my head low enough when I am sneaking on a large group of enemys. I think cloaking is also coming to dust and we are still in beta so each suit will be more customizable in the future plus there will be new suits.
Just thought I'd offer up some for suggestions for sniper classes enjoy -Eris Ernaga

WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING SCOUTS ONLY HAVE SPEED?
+ High Speed + Best Strafe Speed + BY FAR THE BEST Stamina (both amount and regen) + BY FAR THE BEST Shield Regen. + Best Scan Profile + Best Scan Precision and Range + Both Equipment and Sidearm Slots (Heavies and Logis sacrifice one for the other, only Scouts and Assaults get both)
- Low HP (both shield and Armour) - Low PG/CPU Stats
Having the improved scanning stats of even a Standard-level Scout makes for a REALLY effective spotter. Scouts can usually pick up higher-profile enemies who come close enough behind them, and locate targets behind walls, and anyone in your field of view is lit up unless they've buffed their stealth stats - and if you buff your scanners with the right skills and/or gear, you can cancel that out too. While fragile in straight-up combat, Scouts have the best hit-and-run capabilities against enemies who can't/don't alpha them. |

a side arm isn't the most important thing to me especially since you will have to skill into two different weapon and weapon types side arm and light. scanning isn't that godly as you've made it out to be either and stamina while important isn't the best thing ever especially since logistic suits can get speed buffs for one less equipment. They are paper thin |

QFT The Scout is actually a pretty tight fit, but you have to know how to use it effectively. Some sort of sniper bonus is unnecessary and any sort of hp buff defeats the nature of the suit. More shields? Get shot less. |

right now there have been no improvements on profile scanning and radius functionality. they aren't effective at all. you level up the same skills and put on an assault suit you will be just as good as any scout suit user with the difference of a very insignificant amount.
the strafe speed is still nerfed so assault suits with their 10% slower speed is still minute when you lose a huge chunk of your health and shields. i would rather run around with 400 shields in a assault suit than a pathetic 200 in scout shielding. the PG/CPU is garbage and can't put on all the advanced/proto modules making it all the weaker.
anything the scout suit does an assault can do better. survivability is measured by how much health and damage you can pack on. being able to bunny hop around only gives you slim chance for survival, shot gun scouts survive the longest as they usually pump out one shot kills, if they are seen first they usually die. and on another note, scout suits cost more than assault suits for some bizarre reason.
if the differences in profile become more apparent it will be a worth while suit. but right now instead of leveling up scout suit you can put those points in profile dampening/analyzing and get it just as low and just as good as scout suits if not better. a 50% decrease to both suit command and profile dampening at 5 making a heavy suit stealthier than a scout suit. |
