This is coming from some who both uses AV and pilots vehicles.
Currently, all AV grenades explode on contact and are magnetically attracted to vehicles. The solution is simple. First I don't believe we should change the damage of AV's, but rather the mechanics.
Level 1 AV's should NOT explode on contact and be magnetically attracted to vehicles.
Level 3 AV's gain the ability to explode on contact
Level 5 AV's retain the ability to explode on contact AND are magnetically attracted to vehicles.

Umm...no. Let me elaborate that so I don't look like a troll. Tanks, despite having next to zero maneuverability, are very fast. So fast, in fact, that not having explode on contact would leave the AV nades sitting on the ground with their fuses still running while the tank goes on un-molested. As for the magnetism, you also need that to hit full-speed tanks or your grenade will end up on the ground likewise to the previous scenario. |

Having them blow like normal grenades was tried and allowed use vs infantry. Current grenades was fix for this.
Having them home in on tank, stick to it and explode after a delay could work. As long as they still home and stick. The instant explosion is not needed, as long as other they home and stick still.
A variant that sticks to anything and explodes after a time delay, and allows cooking could work as well as a variant, lower damage though since it could be used vs infantry as well. Maybe a reduced blast radius increased direct damage version of locus grenade. |

I think it would be interesting if their homing power scaled with the signature radius of the vehicle. They would have a harder time homing in on LAVs, but would work pretty much exactly how they do now against HAVs. |

If shield extenders raised signature radius this would be particularly good. longer homing distance would be decent drawback for shield extenders to balance with armour plates speed penalty. |

TBH, the design of those nades is one of the sole solutions that prevents HAVs to be able to CQC people while enjoying a beer and watching a game. But that's just my opinion.

Or at least that is supposed to affect swarm launcher lock time, not sure about grenades. Mechanic is broken though, so who knows. |

If this happened, AV grenades would be the ONLY weapon which has such a significant change to its mechanics from one tier to the next in its standard incarnation.
Reduce their "homing" effect so it feels more like it's just magnetism rather than them turning into short-range guided missiles. Have the current level as the amount of tracking the top-tier AV grenades have, and reduce it for each tier lower. Even the baseline version would have at least some slight "drift" when thrown close enough to a target, but they'd move a LOT less out of their way than they do now. |

@ OP= NO.
basic AV grenades barely work vs Medium vehicles and sometimes it takes 2 o them to kill a small vehicle.
PLUS Tanks are pretty Hard to kill as it is so.... |
