Motorcycles. - One man vehicles. Expandable to 2 man with side car module. - Fast. Small. Agile. But with low HP. - Signature profile much smaller than a LAV. Probably about the same as a heavy.
Possible Modules: - Overdrive injector: Increases speed at the expense of a greatly expanded signature profile. - Muffler and Heat-sink: Reduces signature profile. - Sidecar: Adds one passenger slot. - Forward mounted double barrel SMG: Fixed SMGs point forward. Aim by steering. (L1 you lean forward and look down the sights.) Some vertically adjustment possible by popping a wheely, but would require precise throttle control and timing to hit anything not on a horizontal plain. Good for catching someone running across a field, but very situational. (Probably more fun than effective.) - Forward mounted dumb fire rockets: AV, Flux, and Anti Infantry varieties. (Of course unless you actually managed to hit someone direction, and Infantry would have to be on a slope, or by a wall for the rocket to explode near them.)
Good for getting into the hills quickly, or infiltrating behind enemy lines. On level ground with no cover the SMGs might be good against Heavies. With dumb fire rockets they would be good for AV work. Maybe allow the person in the sidecar to use their weapons. The motorcycle provides no protection for the passengers other than speed.

omfg... no. you do realise that one av nade would kill that. btw theres more weapons on that then a LAV so yea the devs are never going to aprove this idea as you would want it. your thinking in the wrong way. LAVs are the lightest vehicles i could ever see going into the battle field. |

First, I only envisioned one module being equipped at a time.
Second, yes I would expect an AV grenade would kill it. I have never had anyone throw an AV grenade at any LAV I was driving so I donGÇÖt see that as a problem. People would probably save their AV grenades for HAVGÇÖs and just shoot the guy on the bike. |

oh i do know that, i drive LAVs the good ones not the base free fit, btw free base fit one from any AV nade. If you never had a AV grenade used on your LAV that means you never really used for anything besides a free ride from point x to point x and let go away. people do not save AV nades when you run them over, some even pull out swarm launchers and chase you down. i can't see a motorcycle being much faster then a LAV and i can only LOL when i think of the handling nightmare people would have. i fully standby this is just the wrong way to go, go for MAV ideas. i really don't see this having a place in the battle field at all. |

I should have listened to my better sense and not included the guns in my suggestion, but I was having fun playing with the idea. People see guns and think that is the primary purpose. I should have left it as an unarmed vehicle.
Purpose is for snipers to get to sniping locations, and be able to relocate quickly. I wish the vehicles would not explode when left unattended. I hate having to call in another LAV every time I want to move to a new position on the battlefield.
Second Purpose is for getting behind enemy lines to hack objectives. You ever try to drive a LAV up a flight of stairs? It is not a quick process. They are too big to manoeuver in small spaces and they show up on everyoneGÇÖs radar.
Third Purpose is getting behind enemy lines so you can sneak up behind them with a shotgun.
The motorcycle is basically a scout vehicle. DonGÇÖt underestimate the value of being able to get quickly from point A to point B.
The SMG and AV stuff was just other stuff I thought of that you could do with it. I guess it just distracts too much from the purpose of this vehicle. |

I like the idea, but would rather see a two seated quad bike, it would be more capable over the rough terrain and more stable. I wouldn't put weapons on it either just give the passenger the ability to fire their assault rifle or SMG |

Does this statement bother anyone else but me?
Anywho, I like the ideas of motorcycles in the game, but it seems that LAV's are essentially doing the job that your wanting the motorcycles to do. However, I can see a strategic purpose in them since they should have a smaller signature radius. Also, they may not be able to go "as" fast as LAV's but their acceleration speed should be vastly superior. This means that you can mount them and just GO. Being smaller makes them harder to hit too. This can basically be described as the scout suit of vehicles. The idea intrigues me.
Some quick questions though. Do you think that the heavies should be able to pilot them, or do you think they should be excluded to only using only LAV or larger vehicles? Just a question, I have no preference.
What would you want them to be called? LAV's are "Light Atack Vehicles" so would motorcycles be called RTV's? Rapid transport vehicles? |

I'd like to point out that, as immortal soldiers, Clone Mercenaries are known to be reckless. Hell, the Shotgun isn't even supposed to be used by normal human beings because it would set them on fire.
It's a wonder we don't do this:
