I am curious to try and get something started in which those who have made or want to play for either faction Gallente/Caldari and Minmatar/Amarr. Or would this be better served until we get more customizable match options. If we can't have a historic battle mode let us recreate some of those battles of importance (or just one battlefield) among many in the much larger wars. What interests me the most in EvE is the history. |

I am sure once we get faction warfare we will get some RP corps going. |

It is more than just faction warfare. It would be those racial teams against their rivals. Recreating those battles that shaped EvE. The fall of Caldari Prime to the Gallente Federation, at the cost of a Nyx and other large ships. The Minmatar Uprising against the Amarr after their butt kicking by the Jove.
We are dealing with Sleeper tech, masters of virtual reality, it should be possible. Even if we have to ad lib currently due to 3 match types. Some diversity is needed! |

At the very least, we have been promised the ability to choose sides in the future, possibly within a month or two. |

Man i should not be doing this (since im not a rep for D6) but Im sure Dead Six would oblige if you asked the CEO. We're supposed to be Caldari Loyalists so if there is someone out there pulling Gallente a lore themed battle could be a lot of fun. |

Playing Gallente I would find it fitting to fight those Caldari. I mean how strong can they be? We took their homeworld from them. |

The Dead Six actually has a few Caldari RPers in it. Being a Caldari Corporation, we're already laying our framework for the IC in addition to running around in "The Summit"
As far as actual RP goes though, I don't recommend it without a keyboard. I'm running a few contests in my corp to give a few out to make things easier on some of my people without making them dig into their own pocket money for a keyboard to use with their PS3's.
If you want to make some RP magic happen with the Dead Six though, try catching me either in "Dead Six Chat" which is our OOC/Public channel, or in "Dead Six Recreation" which is our RP channel. Or, Hit us up here, sign up as a Dead Six Affiliate, and we can get some dedicated forum stuff going.
I'd even be open to the idea of running some coordinated RP oriented Corp Battles.
(I'm actually Harkon's CEO, so I'd be the one to contact in regards to his post.) |

I would still want to try to set something up even if it may reaching across into the EvE side to set it all up. The lore is there that someone could write up. Well at least the beginning of it and as the battle plays out effects the story at the end. |

So I was thinking that if we could get the organization to do it. Have a scenario be written out...
"Days ago one of the most influential families of the Caldari state had one of their sons defect to the Federation for the love of a young woman. The Caldari family vows to bring their son back to the State. The Gallente do not relent and stand against the threats. Sending out a message to those Caldari military forces that would do anything to strike at the Federation one of the mercenary armies of the clone soldiers responds. Cheap and deniable. It will be perfect. Hoping to catch the Gallente family unprepared as they launch an attack against them"
So the first act would be an Ambush. The story would be written out to take into account the shifting battle. Act 2 would then be perhaps a skirmish as both sides become entrenched and they need to take out the base of operations of the other side. Then of course Act 3 would be another Ambush with the attacker being the winner of Act 2. |

Gallente get:
Scout suits. ARs. Shotguns. Minmatar allies with Logi suits using their own SMGs. Full vehicle range.
Caldari get:
Assault Suits. Sniper Rifles. Swarm Launchers. Amarr allies with Heavy suits. Using Caldari Forge Guns. Full vehicle range.
It would be interesting to limit tech to only the items produced by your faction or their ally. I wonder how balanced the Caldari/Amarr tech is against Gallente/Minmatar? I've only listed a handful of items where I know the official faction association. |

If you want to set up RP corp battles, V4H is for hire. We will follow the letter of our contracts, so if you say we deploy with only 6 people to reflect a weaker force, we will do so. If you say we can only use militia gear, we will do so. As long as it is part of our contract. |

You're forgetting that DUST Operatives are mercenaries. Even a Loyalist Corporation will draw like-minded individuals from other cultures. The new influences on an otherwise Purist operation will give rise to new tactics as well as technology that gives that force an edge. |

This has the makings of something great.
I could cover some of the lore related write up since my writing style is more geared to narrative and 3rd person styles. I have also done this sort of thing before for the DKS wiki forums back when the user covenants were in full swing and we were having player RPed, organised, and power shifting wars each weekend.
Also its great to add in certain RPer characters into stories like this. every thing seems more epic in its own way when that happens. |

In reference to OP saying that he wanted to play out some historical battles of New Eden....
How about a sort of VR Corp training mode? Everyone meets on a cyber battlefield with the parameters set to replicate historical battles so as to gain experience and learn the lessons of the past. CCP could even throw in the odd scripted/cinematic in-game event during the match to give it some flavour and more of a "mission" feel. |

I think the OP meant doing corp battles with fluff related builds and lore.
For example OP mentioned an influential Caldari buisness man defecting to the Gallente for the love of a woman. What that buisness man happenes to be a Wiyrkomi buisness man with plans to develop a new shield enchancing mod. And what if that buisness man fled to a small outpost in the badlands to await pick up.
Scenario- Local Caldari militia teams report the prescence of unidentified mercenary soldiers moving around up by the Peragus Mining facility, they call in to high command who sends a squad of elite marines (or something) to secure the buisness man before he can escape.
Rules- No players capture any objectives. Caldari force deploys with one squad of ADV or higher equiped troopers and one of milita grade gear. Gallente deploy however. Caldari either have to assassinate or secure a number of of objectives/player/ persons, or steal a [particular vehicle containing the scematics for the module.
If the Gallente win, the mission continues with the Caldari sending more men after the defector, try to wipe out the Gallente infestation on planet, while if the Gallente win erhaps to a Gallente R and D base to wipe all data regarding the chip. |
