So I have a scout alt who's running a sniper and a SMG. But which variant of the sniper is better? |

A dropship to the skull is much preferred. |

Not very helpful......but I guess since headshots are the main focus of a sniper, more damage would allow more OHKO's. |

what Drake said. Im gonna be honest. I run a Fatso (heavy) and a scout with Shotgun. But if my team is sucking really bad,im playing as a random and everyone is backing up,i do the same and snipe. Since im a lousy shot at long ranges and almost never get Headshots ,the TActical sniper rifle is the one i use. Anything below heavy can be killed with 2-3 shots and it shoots really fast with low recoil.
just my 2 cents here.... |

The tactical sniper both fires quickly and regains its stability more rapidly than other sniper rifles. You can land two hits in the same spot before normal human beings can react, which imo more than makes up for the lower damage per shot.
It will still kill average fits with one headshot, and is probably more likely to kill an enemy high-hp camper with a quick double headshot than a charge sniper would with a single headshot.
I actually like to run around with the thing like some counter strike kid trying to kill people mid/short range |

Try a logi ADV suit with 3 complex mods and a Charge Sniper. OHKO most dropsuits. I prefer the tactical over the regular because of better RoF which will let you kill anything before reacting to the 2nd shot. |

depends how you snipe if you get head shots every time charge is garentied to drop em the first time and kill most low end suits with a body shot, but you will only get one maybe two shots off.
tacs have a really high fire rate but low damage, the trade off is that you get a BIG head shot bonus, really only ment for shorter range sniping.
me I favor the standard sniper as it is a nice mix, you can typicaly get a sec round on a stationary target with out them moving but if they do move or are on the move you can get them before they make it to cover..... and you get five trys instead of the 3 of the tac and charge. it takes 2-3 hits to body shot a suit(most scout in 1) but head shots will drop anything short of proto or heavy.
the standard also works well in both short and long ranges where as the tac and charge really only work in their own end of the range spectrum.
oh and If I see you sniping from the red line expect a grenade up your ass. |

Counter sniping and killing stationary targets - tactical. Field control sniping - standard.
Tactical has lower damage per clip and won't OHKO things, but can kill semi tanked (700hp) snipers before they duck. Standard kills most non-heavies in 2 shots and is generally better suited to kill multiple moving targets fast.
On both setups I use 4 complex damage mods. |

Only sniper gun that i can "tolerate", and doesn't makes me feel like a noob, is the Tactical sniper.
I like to use it a la Black Hawk Down style, moving through the map picking targets at medium range.
I should be using the Tactical AR for that... but that gun is broken, and totally useless. |
