Hiya i don't know if this is a rumor or fact but i have been told that CCP will do a reset i don't mean a reset i mean they give you all your SP back so that you can actually get the skills you want. i mean lets be honest but we all have skilled into something that we don't use or won't.
Please can you tell me if this is fact or fiction? |

Racial drop suit SP might be refunded when they release the reworked suits. Each race will have it's own version of scout, assault, logi, and heavy. As for all SP, fiction, as previously stated. |

I personally would like a release date reset, not a refund but a reset. As in everyone would start back at zero or 50,000 or what ever we started with. I have a feeling there are a lot more skills to come out side of racial dropsuit skills. Probable just me though. |

Why on earth would you want a complete reset? All that time spent on gaining SP would have all been for naught. Is it because there are certain players that are too ahead of you? |

Not at all, there are players ahead of me now there will be players ahead of me then. I more like the idea of us all going into the real universe together.I have a feeling there will be way more skills then we have now. Plus it has been what 2 months since the last reset, are you really losing that much? Where in my statement did I say anything about anyone else being to far ahead. I more feel if it is a full release we should all be there together. Do you feel you are to far ahead of everyone and want to keep that advantage over people? |

I only got into this game about a month ago. I only have 2.1 million right now. That's really far behind everyone else but I put some time to get there. I do not want to see my time go wasted. so yes, i'm losing a lot. Plus, I would need to get refunded on all the aurum I spent on boosters.
EDIT: And yes, I like my advantage. Its not much of an advantage but it DEFINITELY is a lot better than what I had to work with a month ago. And considering everyone else is a bit ahead, it gives me some decent practice. |

Nevermond you have only been in for a few months. We have had resets and they did not kill anyone. Personally I think it's kinda fun. I would think that especially new players would like this. I remember at our first reset it was kind of nice to know exactly where to go what to do and how to do it.
When I first started there was no logi, so I had assualt suit stuff leveled. Which would have been a waste to have my SP there. Also I did not understand there were even different suits and stuff so I thought heavy would just make my suit higher armor. More wasted skill points. I was just saying it's kinda fun to go into a new world together. |

I definitely got what you mean. I just don't want it to happen though.... Sure I wasted some SP in shotgun operation, scrambler pistol operation, and nova knives(this is the one skill where SP is truly wasted) and might've wanted to allocate them elsewhere but its all trial and error. Plus, I think scrambler pistols are actually quite useful. Since i can use officer AR's now, I'll probably skill into the pistol skills to use my officer pistol as well. |

total reset would be a massive "**** you to players" I enjoy playing dust but if all my SP that I earned was suddenly gone, I'd leave Dust due to the time ect I put in to get where I was, however a reset so we can spend the totall SP we earned again maybe alright but defeats the purpose of choosing your skills wisely |

Weapons first, suits later. With everyone right now at advanced suits and stuff, I need a way to kill them first, not survive and deal petty amounts of damage. Say hello to my complex damage modifiers. |

exactly this CCP doesn't like taking away your ability to use thing, it pisses off players, but they are missing a lot of skills for things that you are already using. soo they might refund some/all SP to players so they can decide if they want to respec into what they had and not be as good, or spec into something else. That said they have said nothing about this other then no more SP resets(but they did mean SP resets like in beta) so as far as I know speculation, but speculation that make a lot of sense and I hope is true. |

really like this idea. mostly due to my own idiocy ill admit.
In the beta iv had fun playing around with different fits, weapons, vehicles finding out what I enjoy using and what I don't as I Imagen most new players will do regardless of how long the game has been running.
I would love to see a yearly sp reset/limited number of resets so you could spend the first month or so playing around without having to worry about the future to much. And then when your ready to specialise or just get more focused, you could plan and how best to spend you sp for the roles you enjoy playing and reallocate the sp you previously spent on elements of the game you no longer enjoy.
Having said that if you choose not to do this and leave the SP as it is i wont complain. after all those who have from day 1 focused on a specific role and/or skills would lose the advantage they had won through dedication.
TL;DR
Personally I would like to see it happen but id understand if it didn't. |

I think that refunding SP prior to release, and after other racial dropsuits are introduced, would be a superb idea. We've all put points into the specific race that's only available now, and it would be nice to be able to choose the race that we actually like once we see what the various available variants are. |

Right - one that you're not supposed to be able to respec on the fly. Under normal circumstances you wouldn't be able to do this and the only real justification for it is going from Open Beta to Release, beyond that there's no real reason for it.. Please give us a respec (willing to use some sp to do it if i have to, to make it more fair)
When new suits and weapons come in I dont want to be stuck with what I got at moment because ive already vested to much into it those starter suits and weapons already (i.e. Im not going to switch to mini assualt suits if ive already got prototype caldari suits or switch to mini vehicles if Ive already invested points in caldari HAV to lvl 5) giving us respec will help us spread out into all that new shiny gear and create alot more variance out there |

If you absolutely feel the need to reset, CCP, I suggest a partial reset - refund only skillpoints that apply to racially specific items. Racial dropsuits, weapons and vehicles.
The generic skills leave as they are.
It gives players the opportunity to explore new things, but still leaves them responsible for the way they built their characters.
Personally, i'd prefer no reset at all. These mercs have been privileged to make history - let it stand as is. In New Eden, decisions have consequences. I'm willing to live and die by the choices I've made, in fact I want to live and die by the choices I've made. |

I think this would be nice for the new players I know alot of them must have made tons of mistakes and would like a chance to fix the skill tree. |

I suppose I could get the SP I put into dropships back and do something useful with it. |

It would be really nice if CCP lets us respec at least some - I read that respec was coming and took the opportunity to try out all the weapons XD |

Hey guys,
In response to the OP:
http://dust514.com/news/2013/04/official-dust-514-podcast-debuts/
I highly recommend listening to that podcast. Due to the large and extensive changes to skills for DUST in Uprising the decision was made to refund all SP. Give that podcast a listen though, good stuff!
To be clear this is not a reset, it is a refund.
Reset would mean just setting you back to as if you just started your character. Refund is giving you back the skills you spent so you can spend them again.
:)
Uprising is going to be AWESOME! :D |

Ohhhh the sweet sweet tears that will flow from the "Give me my aurum doubled" (and a lot of people) if this doesn-¦t happen.
I like the stuff i salvaged (Specially my Thale-¦s TAR-07 sniper rifle), but i would-¦t care about a reset just so i coul taste this.
For all i know, there-¦s a big "BETA" at the front of the game, so all we do here is only a test, and can be mercilessly wiped out. |

Why wouldn't you want to issue a respec? And why would they reset?
Stupid questions here people. CCP want their game to grow not shrink. If somebody had 7 million SP and came on DUST one day to see it gone they'd quit instantly. They'd lose almost their entire fanbase, do you really think they would do that?
It's stupid to even theorise. |

I have 10 mill SP! I could care less if they refund it! What I do care about is ALL the AUR items I have lost due to in game BETA glitches! I will keep asking this question until I get an answer from CCP! Will there be an AUR refund at official release as the original terms stated? Here is a copy of those terms! http://www.dust411.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/MercPackTerms.jpg
CCP is REFUSING to answer the question! I have sent several emails with NO RESPONSE! |
