Cos I'm a heavy getting killed in same second someone starts to shoot at me with a militia AR, and I'm shotting at people in standard assault armour and literally doing next to no damage. Do you get a hidden Ner when you hit cap to deter you from playing more? Cos frankly someones changed since I feel like I'm paying 100,000+ isk on weaker than militia loadout :/

Sorry, Gary. I had a super deluxe complex titanium officer damage mod on my militia AR. Oh, and invincibility shield upgrade.

 EDIT: All purchased with AUR.

I will often snipe at heavies with the tactical sniper rifle while they are in fire fights laking damage from different enemies. Does not show up on the kill feed but will get an assist and help the team in ambush.

So even when a heavy thinks they are just going to solo an assault player other members of the team could have laser fire or sniper fire hitting you from different directions as well.

I think players with militia rifles do a lot of kill stealing as well. Knowing they are weak they can still sneak in to take you down the heavy the rest of the way.

I have the same experience running as heavy, some will melt my heavy armor in a second with AR rifles while other times I feel indestructible.

Try both heavy type armors, type-1 and type-2, the type-1 with high armor and less shield seems more effective as if the hybrid damage from AR rifles and lasers quickly zaps the heavy armor type with the higher shields.

Also choosing the heavy suit with high armor as Heavy type-1 and Heavy A-Series seems to have an effect on the scanning as if your small shield makes you harder to see on the radar and not a practice target that lights up at 100m distance. I have in the type-1 heavy suit and HMG been able to walk up behind red dots without them noticing me, this has never happened with the Type-2 armor.
It is scary to try and sneak up on the red dots in the very slow moving type-1 suit, it is too slow to run away should they notice me.

But there are just some with crazy skills in AR, both with precision where all bullets hits you and with complex damage modifiers. Stay behind cover even if you have your heavy suit and use the HMG to put down suppression fire to help your own teams AR users.

And lastly the HMG have a huge spread in the beginning and not many bullets will hit a smart assault player when he is facing a heavy. He better begin to jump and dance

I think heavy are in a period where they get a lot less effective.

Alot of people have skills like above with AR, and are now killing heavy more than before.
Less new guys coming in too. reducing the margin of SP.

Not to say that you can now see some Logi suits which stack so much shield and armor booster that they have close to as much HP than the heavy, but with some equipment.

A cheap heavy fitting cost about 70,000isk. You die 3 times in a game are you loose money. Which isn't fun since we do die more now. I skilled a heavy, now I am stuck with it. I die and I pay. When I need to grind some isk , I use a scout bpo + militia shotgun, which I am totally not skilled into.

Thinking of a way out of heavy right now, without creating a new alt...

I think the heavy are fine to avoid it being overpowered, we just have to play differently and no longer rely on the armor. Being more a support role, play smarter and use the HMG to put down suppression fire is very effective, even if you are not hitting much but most enemy infantry will keep their heads down when bullets are flying around their ears. Stay close to the team as you need backup from both the assault types and logi, they will benefit from the fear factor you have against invaders, they dare not run up close to your position knowing a heavy is hiding with his deadly machine gun. And jumping in front of a door and jamming the trigger gives enough room for your assault team mates to run through the doorway into the room while you are suppression the defenders.

You can build a cheap HMG dropsuit at 12k that you can use for practicing and farming ISK. It is tempting run with the 0 cost starter outfits but then you will miss out getting better playing with the HMG. This game shows that equipment brings me a long way but skilled players quickly dispatches me even in my most expensive outfit showing that training with my preferred weapon is as important as farming ISK and SP.

The heavy might have been easy mode in earlier iterations, I have only been here since open beta started and I have just recently started to do better with my heavy than a standard militia assault rifle suit. It is only easy against those standing still in front of me.

 This IS your way out.

Use the Starter Fits, with any BPO modules you can tack onto them (if you have any), and use that Scout BPO, and stick to cheap gear so you can stockpile some ISK, and SP, and buy up new skillbooks. If and when Heavies get a buff to help balance the high-tier equipment out against the other high-tier suits, you'll still have those skills waiting for you.

Or maybe it's time for heavies to stop thinking they can lonewolf 2-3 guys when they should always have a logi backing them up with a repair gun ready to fix their armor... Honestly, a heavy 1vs1 is still way more powerfull than even an advanced assault stats wise.

Then it's all about the situation. If the assault guy has a cover nearby and can use it ro regroup and nade the dumb heavy that still thinks it's a good idea to rush that covered dude........ Well the heavy will most likely die.

But in a confined space, not beating your opponent 1 vs 1 just means you kinda suck. (shotgun in the back aside of course)
