I have a serious problem with the current marauder class tanks atm and that problem is not enough bang for buck.
Currently the differences between a standard and marauder tank is very minimal. One extra mod slot, slightly higher CPU/PG/HP does not justify a 1M ISK increase in hull price.
Marauders according to your devblogs are suppose to be devastating and currently its merely a high value target.
Immediate Fix: Siege Modules. These were mentioned in your devblog and tbh without them atm Marauders are not worth it. Its pathetic that i can take on a Sagaris with a Madrugar and beat it easily in a blaster brawl. Siege mode fixes that
Marauders dont necessarily need a buff in base hp and such they just need the module that seperates them from every other tank. Same reason u took the BO tanks out because they were useless without the mods the same way marauders atm are usless without the siege module.
The marauder skill should also unlock the ability to use siege modules btw.
http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Siege_Module Siege modules for those that dont know what they do. I can see both the siege and triage variants being easily implemented into a DUST version. Triage one will be great for repper tanks and should also vastly increase the range of the Active scanner that we currently got.

Marauders, I'm guessing, are supposed to be analogous to a Tech 2 hull, in which case they're a highly specialized, technologically advanced system. That does not mean that they're better, certainly not that they're better by an amount that justifies their cost.
Instead, they have a specialized role to fill, a role that currently doesn't exist because of a lack of mods currently in the game. It's the same story with the logi dropships. Putting a Surya in siege mode shouldn't necessarily mean that it'll rock the face of every other HAV, hell we don't know what it'll mean.
Also, weren't they being called "black ops HAVs" for a while? Or am I thinking of something else? I know the dev blog you're referring to calls them Marauders, but it also calls the Eryx a "Force Recon" dropship. |

you're absolutely right about the seige mods. i have an 800,000isk railgun tank and im 3-shotting sagarises like it's cool. they need a serious buff to reflect the ridiculous prices. I like the idea of a mod that boosts one aspect of the tank ridiculously. for 1 million more isk, i want a tank that'll last. |

exactly just like the BO tanks that were in before the marauders dont really get a proper role due to the mods not being in there and all u get are 1 extra slot and a minor increase in cpu/pg/hp for 1M more ISK
the tank itself is fine like the dude said above they dont need to be that much greater base wise they just need the MODS that give them their special role on the battlefield to justify the cost. |

Props to you Mavado; I've read all 4 posts and you've done your homework and produced the most complete set of tank feedback I've seen on the forums whilst keeping a well balanced and somewhat impartial view. It's refreshing to see.
As a AV infantry guy, I don't like the idea that tanks could become harder to kill but I have to concede your points and hope that by the time all your suggestions come into play I've got my AV skills up enough and a couple more AV guys to come tank hunting with me. |

Not really clear on what about my post would indicate a lack of understanding of HAV driving. |

If marauders are buffed, increase the WP value. Also, put the Sagaris on equal footing with.the Surya. Buff the Sagaris' PG and buff the Surya's CPU. |

You guys obviously don't know how EVE prices work and Dust prices obviously resemble EVE prices to a point. Like the first reply to this thread said marauder tanks some what resemble tech 2 modules. These modules can be a butt load more expensive but not give that much bang for their buck. When wanting that small extra edge the price mostly sky rockets you have to be willing to pay for the extra buff. |

Advanced and Prototype modules in Dust 514 give much less bang, but the price remains almost as high. |

I expect that the modules being introduced to market will have new skills associated with them appropriate to the type of advantage offered and with an appropriate SP requirement. No New Eden capsuleer can just learn how to fly a Co-Ops frigate and expect that there isn't also a skill for dropping bombs or using a Covert-Ops Cyno generator or even the Covert ops cloaking device, all of which are specialized modules for Advanced Frigates. Tank drivers should expect the same thing, you want a siege module? Train for it. |

HP needs an increase i feel
Or even a bonus to armor/shield in some way
Majority of ships in EVE give a bonus to its main weapon and also to its defenses

Are the Sargaris's using missles? The biggest buff to both the Sargaris and the Surya is the passive dmg buffs from the Maurauder skill which makes the tank that much more effective.
For the Sargaris extra low slot allows you to buff dmg with either a dmg mod, or a passive heat sync, or if you so choose another 7% buff to shields and powergrid. When all taken together its over a 20% buff to dmg over the gunloggi (When running missiles which if your not your driving your tank wrong and shouldn't be suprised to loose to a Madruger.).
For the Surya the extra high slot allows you to run an F45 Damage Control, an Active Heat Sync, and a nitros so you accelerate at the same speed as a shield tank. Being able to run all three of those is a huge buff to survivability. On top of that you receive large buffs to the damage of your blaster. Furthermore the increased pg/cpu allows the Surya to replace the supplimental armor plate with a polycrystaline one to go with 3 carapice armor hardners and one heavy efficient armor repair unit.
In my opinion any further buff to these vehicles will turn dust into a tank driving game (if it isn't already) where tank drivers crush everyone on foot and only fear each other. |

I got my Surya, alot of SP and ISK for not much difference, essentially you can have the near same fit with the Madrugar for 1mil and 700 less armor bit less DPS if you have the madrugar skill
@ Deluxe Edition - No one uses missiles unless you want to die, any other tank vs a missile tank the missile tank loses thats why the Sagaris is seen with the other turrets the problem is that it will still lose to a armor tank |
