Part 2 of 4 of this feedback series on Tanks.
Missiles both large and Small are broken. A hotfix ****** them over so this is a fix to un **** the ****** missiles.
First off Missiles should come in 2 variants, a Long range low dmg one and a shorter range high dmg one.
Now onto the specifics. Proto missiles currently if all land do ALOT more dmg than Rails and this showed when missiles actually fired straight with Missile tanks 1-2 shotting armor tanks
Reduce Direct dmg on missiles. Proto missile base dmg should be around 1500 total. While some might think this low keep in mind 30% bonus dmg to armor + 35% passive skills + if u go shield tanking and get a sagaris with marauder skill thats a further 20% more dmg so ideally ur lookin at almost 2x the dmg if u specialize.
Splash radius needs an increase, splash dmg is fine splash shouldnt get u easy kills but soften ppl up and be more area denial.
Missile Variants: Accelerated Long Range: Low dmg but much longer range than what we got now, pretty much a return to the old range and speed Breach Variant: Short Range High Dmg variant |

nah, leave the missle toys along, those are rarely used because of the fact they have travel time, meaning they dont usually hit often, so people opt more ofr instashot rails |

missiles are broken im an armor tanker and even i admit they got problems if u dont think they are u have problems that is all. |

Missiles were once the most common turret type, the travel time didn't matter much to the people using them to massacre everything in sight, while I don't want to see them return to being the be all and end all of turrets, they certainly need some work to make them usable again.
And I'm an armor tanker so its really not in my interest for explosive weapons to make a come back (+30% dmg is such BS while there are no anti shield weapon besides flux nades but whatever) |

The actual damage they do feels alright, but being able to apply that damage is really difficult.
I'd like to see a buff to missile velocity and splash radius so you can apply damage against infantry a bit easier and hit things that aren't on your bumper. |

NO NO NOOOOOOOO the dmg they do is waaay too high a well fitted armor tank used to get 1 shotted back when missiles shot straight.
2000+ dmg + 30% bonus to armor + 35% bonus from passive skills + 20% bonus from marauder skill do the maths ppl thats around 4200 dmg in ONE SHOT
the reason CCP added random spread to the missiles was to make more of the 4 missiles u fired per shot MISS but now they are crap because its almost impossible to hit anything at any distance. hence i suggested u bring missiles back to shooting straight and lowering the direct dmg so u dont dish out 4200 dmg per shot armor wont stand a chance in a fight and there are NO anti-shield AV weapons atm |

I could see nerfing their damage if you sped up their rate of fire I looked yesterday and you can shoot 3 railgun bullets in the time it takes to shoot 2 missiles.... |

The reason Large Missile turrets could out DPS a railgun before the nerf, was because instead of having 10% damage mods, Missiles got 20% damage mods. They now have the correct 10% damage mods available. |

Missile tanks are useless against anything except an amour tank at point blank range or when spawn camping at 30m. They need a range buff. Make all missiles have a range that is the median between the railgun and blaster and everyone will be happy. damage isn't the issue really- it's the lack of range. |

Missiles do need their dmg lowered tho slap the numbers i calculated earlier was for 10% dmg mods and ur still doin 4200 per shot idk the rof its slightly higher than rails but considering once they can shoot straight again they hav a much better effectiveness vs infantry and more dmg vs armor tanks u prob wont want them shooting too fast |

Missile turrets of all types used to be massive damage long range sniper accurate weapons that could lay waster to everything destructible on the field.
Their fix was to nerf the range too much, and put a ridiculous amount of scatter on.
Now as the victim of many missile attacks to counter my 9K330, I had my frustrations. Be still, even now, I think the missiles have too short of a range and need a lot less scatter, but not the near sniper accuracy. Not sure what to do about the damage radius but the damage per missile needs to be brought down a bit or make the turrets fire two missiles instead of four.
Just my thoughts. |
