I think that when you get revived you shouldn't keep your death in the scoreboard. That's the whole point of getting revived. As the mechanics stand right now, no one wants to be revived because you might just end up beeing killed again = 2 deaths and 2 dropsuits lost (while you'r wearing the same dropsuit ). Also, this brings us to a question: If you get revived and your death stays on the scoreboard (clone died), is you suit runing by it self? ... it doesn't make sense.
Solution: There are games that work like this: (Expl: Battlefield3) The killer always get the kill, but if the player that died gets revived his death wouldn't count. IMO
What do you guys think of this? |

IMO What do you guys think of this? Getting revived DOESN'T cost you an extra dropsuit when you die though. If it does, that's a bug. You die, you get a death on your stats. You get revived, that means you DON'T lose the clone towards the team's clone count, AND YOU DON'T LOSE YOUR STUFF.
Not having to replace the gear you died in is half the incentive for not bleeding out. If that's not working as intended, that belongs in the bugs thread. But the death should still count, because you still lost the fight and/or failed at getting away. |

Stop worrying about your kdr. You died, if you get picked up you DO save a dropsuit. Even if you are dropped again, you only lose one dropsuit... not two. This should be enough motivation, especially if youre wearinga, suit that costs 100-150k isk. |

Well this isn't about KDR. My question is this: If you get revived and your death stays on the scoreboard (this means that your clone is DEAD), is you suit runing by it self? If you get revived it means that you didn't died, your just badly wounded, so... why the death?. |

If you get revived it means that you didn't died, your just badly wounded, so... why the death?. You're a clone full of nanomachines, not a real person. When you die, you come back. Over and over again. Nano-Injectors basically "kick-start" the self-repair systems built into your body and your armour. You were in a "dead" state. Maybe not actually dead, but close enough to be useless. You got beaten in combat, and didn't escape the situation. Your K/D is adjusted to reflect that failure. It doesn't get adjusted back because someone else showed up to get you back on your feet after your defeat. But you don't lose your stuff either, so at least your "death" wasn't as expensive as it otherwise might have been.
EDIT: Headshots destroy the brain, rendering it useless and automatically ejecting your consciousness into a new clone, as per the established backstory for DUST Mercs. Most explosives seem to render the body irreparable, either through damage to the brain or through simply overkilling the self-repair nanotech that an injector won't be sufficient. |
