hey.
i don't know about you guys, but i have a lot of loadouts... and i came up with a little idea.
this is how it could work:
i have a loadout with a dropsuit, an assault rifle and a locus grenade. i call it ARLOCUS and then make this loadout a folder. i duplicate the loadout and change the locus grenade to a av grenade and put the new loadout into the original locus grenade folder.
at a supply depot it could look like this ARLOCUS (If i press x it default selects the loadout, if i press right on the dpad it drops down the folder)
*NOTE having a folder for 2 loadouts would be pretty stupid as you would press the dpad more times than normal.. but with this system you wouldn't HAVE to do that.. just in case you're the type of player who only has 1-2 loadouts... unless pressing right on the dpad moved the selection down one by default, then it's the same.
ARLOCUS -ARAV (from here i can select which of the two i want to use.)
lets say that i have 3 different weapons i use and i want to have a loadout for each weapon using each grenade. at a supply depot it'll look something like this (familiar to most i assume).
ARLOCUS ARFLUX ARAV MDLOCUS MDFLUX MDAV LRLOCUS LRFLUX LRAV
when you hop over to a supply depot and possibly have people shooting at you digging thru this stuff isn't exactly ideal. with this idea it'd look like this.
ARLOCUS MDLOCUS LRLOCUS
i want to use LRAV, so i highlite the LRLOCUS and a dropdown menu appears ARLOCUS MDLOCUS LRLOCUS -LRFLUX -LRAV
i use the dpad to go down and select LRAV, or LRLOCUS or flux of whatever- if i change my mind.
doing it this way means i click the dpad 5 times or less if pressing right puts the selection down one by default. doing it the current way means i click it 8 times... and these are pretty tame examples, some people have way more than this.
let me know what you think.
oh and just to clarify im not saying use a certain weapon for all of the loadouts under the folder, they could be whatever loadouts you wanted. |

This idea would be even better if you could restock whole folders. Therefore, if you store loadouts which possess the same gear, but are not identical, and restock them together, the computer can work out the discrepencies for you. It'd save me from picking through each fit obsessively and making sure everything is neat while my squad waits for hours until I'm done. |

I'm kinda on the fence on this one. In principle it makes sense but the many different ways in which people would want to custom organise their fittings would make it quite a complex system to code. |

I like the Idea. It would make things less cluttered. |
