Tired of not playing corp battles because everyone is playing the political metagame? Tired of corps duking each other out fear of losing face, rep, or ego?
Yea me 2.
My solution a 1-2 day event next weekend where all the major corps will host contracts and we will randomly pick up squads in the LFBattle channel.
I dont mean corp v corp. I mean straight up vets v vets in a intimate 8v8 with nothing on the line other than having a good 'ole time.
Lets face it this game is dying fast and there are plenty of players who want to play a good CB but everyone is stepping on eggshells.
Okay well lets quit that nonsense, get back to school yard pickup game rules, Hosting corps pick 2 SL and each and they take turns filling their roster with RANDOM MEMBERS of the LFBATTLE channel group.
AND WE PROCEED TO HAVE FUN.

Unreal
U/A
ZIon
PHI
and others involved to create and accept a contract and then just pull players into through the LFBattle channel or better yet lets create a new channel maybe cal it PICKUPCB or Schoolyard battles.
Lets try to keep the teams balanced as best as possible, check the egos at the door and just have fun, i think we can have something fun here. A test of true skill of vets vs vets "pubstom" in the ultimate showdown of wits and talent.

I like the idea. But you should also take into consideration some of the smaller corporations like the one I am a part of. If you guys can reach out to some of these smaller corps who are interested in doing corp battles then you guys might have your confidence to go out and play instead of relying on using randoms to balance out your squads and rep. But of course you still factor in the chance of losing to a smaller corp, losing rep etc. I do feel bad for you bigger corps for the way you feel. If you were getting paid to play and are worried about rep and stuff then I would understand. Just go out there and have fun, learn, lose, win, get better at the game. You can't get better without playing the best.
If you all can figure out a system that makes you comfortable in playing corp matches, I am all for it. If it keeps some of the best players engaged, then do it. I do not want to see a game with a bright future die just because some of the big and talented corporations dont want to lose their rep. In fact, what rep do you really have if you do not go out and play these corps anyway? |

nice idea Gunner but still 8v8 and tbqh this not covering losses for vehicle guys so this will be expensive fun for me and seeing as i dont live on the game like others ill be broke within a week or 2 if i actively do this. Cant run on the ground cuz my ground gear costs too much AUR. So yea ill most likely be sittin this out.

@Berserker dont think u'll find much of us wanting to do this tbh. Ppl already force themselves to get on and hit this cap every week, ppl been playin this build for half a year now ppl tired of the same ole bs. Besides we got things planned we gotta do, rather focus on us as a corp rather than blowing ISK on meaningless community gatherings. |

This was good idea. ^^^^^ up there. Im in LFBattle channel. I'LL try to get on with Yourdeadagain76 or Saltdog76,.... but the militia gear/starter fit only, mods, militia weapons/Tanks/turrets etc. would be cool and keep everyones costs down and make it about skill not gear. |

Sounds like a amazing idea down the line for future reference but ATM I would rather not squad with anyone else besides corp mates unless they are good friends. With a competitive game like dust epeens and egos will never fully be checked, and while some guys wan't to act buddy buddy and modest in public chat and pm's with cross corp friends they still secretly want to rip your heads off and be better then you or they secretly think they are better then you. I respect everyone on dust but don't want to go in with anyone else like that ATM. |
