So I am lagging. A LOT. I've just sat through about ten games and only one was playable. I didn't do great but I managed 450 WP (still with lag). Most matches are unbearable to play and I want to know what I can do to improve my connection. I have an English PS3 and so I have the British beta downloaded. I also live in Hong Kong right now and so I think that I'm connected to European players when really I should be connected to Asian players. Is this my problem or could it be something else?
My download speed moves between 1.5 and 7.5 mbps but my upload is around 100-400kbps.
I really want to play this game but I literally can't with how bad this is.

I did this but it didn't seem to work. Which numbers do I need specifically? My connection hasn't been too bad recently but when it's bad, it's unplayable so I'm thinking it's something on my end with the ISP my building shares. |

1. Register psn like asian user. This automaticly give you asian servers.. and this is most missed point by you.
Another points to consider:
2. Upgrade your conection to at last 5 Mb/s 3. Dont use wi'fi to conect to your router 4. Change hdd to 7200rpm or ssd

Don't know what to tell you. I live in Bangkok, using wifi on a 3Mb/s connection, but with an ssd. I only ever get hardware lag on the dusty/cloudy variants, haven't had any real latency issues. I play through a US PSN account. Judging by the player names, I seem to be connecting to other asians, I stay off comms so I can't actually verify that. |

Is there someone else using the network at the same time? Watching movies or YouTube for instance?
As for lag in general some of the maps are worse than others. Skim Junction can be difficult when there are intense fire fights and vehicles. If the lag only occurs once in a while than it can normally be solved by restarting DUST. I don't know of anybody that has had to restart more than once every several hours unless there are other problems.
DUST is a work in progress and one should assume Memory Leaks are present. They would show themselves by slowly consuming resources until the game starts to run out. That would produce lag as the game engine tries to get the textures to fit in a reduced memory space. |
