So I need some help understanding how CCP does its math on skill upgrades, loadouts, etc.
Scenario #1: I have a Sever BP logi suit that has a CPU threshold of 195. I also have circuitry skilled to level 4. Since each circuitry upgrade adds 5% additional CPU to the base CPU stats of my suit per level, shouldn't my CPU be calculated in the following manner:
195 (suit) X 1.20 (circuitry L4)= 234 CPU
If so, why do I only have 233 CPU?
Scenario #2:
I currently have a dropsuit fitting with 228 CPU out of a possible 233 CPU. I currently have a basic shield recharger fitted to this loadout that takes up 30 CPU. However, I want to swap the militia shield recharger in to make the loadout a bit cheaper. The militia shield recharger uses 35 CPU. Simple mathematics leads me to believe that switching these modules should put me at my CPU threshold of exactly 233 out of 233, but when I switch these modules I end up with a new total CPU total of 237. What kind of witchcraft is this? I started off with 5 CPU to spare, I then switch to a module that uses 5 more CPU, but now my loadout is 2 CPU over my limit. I can't make any sense of this!

They really should be more forthcoming about how all the values add up. Its hard to play any RPG when you Don't understand the mechanics. |

I did the math based off the numbers you gave me, and your right in that it should be 234, i dont know where 233 came from. However i do know that whenever a mathmatical equation is done in this game, the product (if its not a whole number) will ALWAYS round down.
So for example lets say that you have a PG skill increasing your PG to 29.99999, that number will round down to 29, it WILL NOT round up to 30. This basically means that i think the number you see in the description for the dropsuits base cpu is not actually what it is, its probably off by like .25 or something silly like that. This would make the number come out to like 233.67 or something and that would just round down to 233.
Not sure if this helped, but this rule is universal for every equation done in the game (i think). |

The CPU usage of shield mods is reduced by the Shield Enhancements skill. I don't believe this bonus is applied to Militia Modules. Look and see and I think you'll find the Basic Shield Recharger is drawing 28 CPU, not 30. |

You might be right about the shield upgrades, but that doesn't explain the lost CPU point on the suit. Why 233 instead of 234? |

It's the "CCP Rounding" error. It's been talked about to death here on the fourms. |

What is there to round? It's a whole number of 234. |

Is this a hard rule, I was changing load out, and I forget which module it was, but the fraction actually rounded up. Which wasn't the case with other modules/skills. Couldn't figure out any pattern/reason why.

^ This. On the back end things are not whole numbers it would seem. |
