just starting my grind to my B series and scooped up the A along the way.I may be spoiled by my jacked up type 2 suit with all my shield tanking skills but i cant seem to get comfortable with a fit for the A series. I have most all of my core / passive skills capped , you know circuitry, com. engineer, shields, field mech. weaponry and have access to my proto ARs as well. should i really spend all the time REALLY tinkering with the A series or just keep running type 2 until B? just curious as to what you other assaults have gotten out of your A series suits before making the move to B.

well thats kind of where im at in my thinking as well...its more like "yay! extra high slot butttttt there goes my speed/shield
." the A series doesnt seem like a very good intro into adv. suits for assualt at least.
Actually i get the extra CPU/PG , but it doesnt make up for the other stuff really.

Unless you can afford the aurum proto series there's no need to go for A. I guess like pretty much every assault you have a shield oriented merc so B series is all you want. The extra CPU and pg won't make a difference since even with 3 complex shields , II series will be superior ,cheaper and more effective.

very true. i do know some people that run A series just with complex dam. mods and some armor rep, but since the stacking is broke that wont last forever and i tend to REALLY assault as an assault suit, i dont stay in one place too long in skirmishes and im always on the move to engage or hack a new obj. so i much rather have some more shield and survivability while running to my next obj. so i can take a few sniper hits or run through a grenade without worrying much when im not actively engaging another red.

A-Series isn't that bad if you have a logi and want to use damage mods. The extra CPU help a lot with more damage and better weapons.

Otherwise though the B-Series is worlds better.

 (sorry, I'm bored)

Anyway, yeah, shields are clearly the FOTM, auto recharge *and* more EHP after all. People used to say this would change once we started seeing more flux grenade spam, but I guess we're not there yet. ;)

I just completely skipped it and kept using the Type-II until I unlocked the B-Series. For me the Type-I variant's aiming speed is too slow (remember that aiming speed is liked to movement speed). Also the slower stamina regeneration is a pain.

My playstyle greatly prefers shield builds and I couldn't bear to swap even a single shield extender for a damage mod now - currently I'm using the B-Series with 3 complex shield extenders. Losing even more shield by using a Type-I variant just feels painful now.

My swarm AV fit with complex damage mods and packed AV uses this suit since it's cheaper. I also test new weapons on it.

How did you manage to fit all that on the A series?

I can't fit 3 complex shield enhancers with armor, armor rep, nanohive, grenades, assault SMG and advanced pistol and that's what I really want. Instead I had to settle for 2 complex shields and 1 shield recharger - it's still a pretty b1tching setup.

I also use the A series with 3 complex damage mods and my advanced swarms to take down heftier tanks but I need two CPU enhancers to be able to carry a nanohive and flux grenades too.

Haven't made it to A this build as I don't have as much time as past builds, but . . . I kept using my type II over the A-series last build, waiting until I finally had the B-series. The A-series is meh. I'm convinced there must be a fit that makes it okay, but I'm clearly not specced right for it.

Guys my assault build is using damage mods atm. Which do you think would be better A-series or Type 2? Type 2 is amazing even without shield extenders, but I'm doing a glass cannon and I'm desperate for more CPU/PG.

The A series has an extra High slot, allowing you to put an extra damage mod if you can squeeze enough CPU out of it. I can put 3 complex dmg mods on with my advanced swarm if I have 2 militia CPU enhancers.
