I am really jealous of the Missile Tanks when I see them on the field now. I so want to do it!!!!!! I am hopeful that they are better, or that CCP will make them better if they are not.
Yah great guide so far. I would suggest playing around with standard lvl small turrets more too. All small turrets are bad, so you won't want to fit the best of the best 90% of the time.
> Small blaster = lowest CPU, highest PG (use if you need CPU and have PG) > Small missile = highest CPU, lowest PG (use if you have CPU and need PG) > Small railgun = mix of both
I've found that using missile or blaster generally fits the best, but I might be using a rail soon-ish. Whatever lets me fit the best tank is what I roll with.
Eris Ernaga wrote:I'd like to suggest when putting together a fit that you use a calculator this will let you determine PG and CPU cost before you even equip the module, it will also allow you to calculate percents from skills or modules and add them to your tank's statistics.
Great advice! The 3% reduction to CPU use of shield extenders works now too btw (I heard that it previously did not). It also adds up to be a fairly large amount of CPU saved. |

I am glad you enjoyed the thread I worked on it for hours and it's still not finished ha! Also I don't think missiles got fixed they still shoot off to the side a lot, they used to be one hitters now they are three to four ;(. That's why I recommended hybrid turrets because it'll allow you to use blasters and railguns missiles of course still being nerf would just waste skill points. |

Hey guys would like to let you know while all the text is officially out for this thread I will in time be expanding and editing the text in the five post above so please do not post grammar fixes. I hope this can teach you something about tanks, the fits that are on the fifth post can be used by everyone and I will make sure to post only the best fits, remember to train your skills so you have enough PG and CPU. |

That post was clearly by someone that twitches at the mere thought of bad grammar. He said he would wait. That is not disrespect, that is merely stating his twitchy problem while respecting your wish not to be inundated with grammar, spelling and punctuation input.
If you wanted help with those things that might be a resource just waiting to be asked. You put a lot of effort into this but don't over react to how other people are wired. It takes all kinds to fill the Freeways.
Take a breath. Relax.
Now, get back to work, but don't forget to rest. You said you weren't feeling well. So don't push too hard. |

First thing i do when i gain levels in certain skills is buy all the modules that skill level unlocks, that way you can play around with different fits.
Also if your going to use a rail gun your better off using damage mods, Railguns are primarily an AV turret but are very effective for troops.
Some very good info in this thread its a bit long but well worth a read. |

Hey , I'm a newbie tanker and have got 2 fits: 1) Soma -690 shield and 4170 armor. Battle Ready. Nothing equipped in high slots 2) Madrugar- somewhere in the 700s shield and 4159 armor. No turret equipped (I.e., work-in-progress) Now, what should I equip in the higher modules? Improve my shields a bit or damage modules? |

active heat sink and nitrous will allow you to shoot longer and get out of bad situations faster make sure you have enough pg and cpu. In this guide if you read the full thing I got over the high slot modules some are turret upgrades, speed modules, scanners, clone reanimation unit, and I have seen some people mostly in Gallente tanks put shield boosters or extenders on their already armor tank I wouldn't do that though. |

Don't use miltiia work towards at least standard before you come up with a fit. Make sure to get circuitry and combat engineering to atleast 5 first and train the skills you will need to use the meta 1 tank should cost around 200k each non fit. Go for blasters on your gallente tank and make sure to get some kind of speed module will help for getting into or out of bad situations fast. |

I've managed to fit my soma with 2 light polarized armor reps, a 120 mm reinforced nonofibre pate, and a 180 reinforced steel plate which totals to about 6900 armor. My turrrets are 2 scattered neuron blasters and a compressed large blaster( about to put some neuron blasters on it) The reppers allow me to completely repair almost any damage from av and unless i wander absentmindedly into some large rail guns or meet a standard tank, i can destroy with this thank..... it only costs me about 240000 isk... much cheaper than the other tanks. Good way to destroy infantry and installations without spending a lot of money. |

From there on it's just maximizing skills a lotta work keep at it ^_^ |

So it's normally kept pretty secret, but...
Caeli did a bit on armor tank vs shield tank, and he used some builds. He didn't use the "best" builds for everything (tankers make multiple fits) but it's a good start if you're looking for at least one build.
I'd ask him if you can post some of his info here. I'm sure all of the tankers looking @ general forums have tried these fits anyways :P.

It will eventually become outdated, but it's a good start for now. |

Any suggestions?
RuckingFetard wrote:So I was wondering if my current tank fit is good: Highs: 2*Shield resistance amplifiers
Lows: 1*Heavy IGL polarized armor repairer 1*180mm polycrystalline Armour plates 2*N-type armor hardener 1*energized plating
Turrets: 1 small scattered and compressed blasters 1 large neutron blaster
The above gives me 900 shields and 6600ish armor on my madrugar Is the above fit OK, or should I fit more plates on it?
P.S. I'm trying to prepare an armor tank for CQC. what will be the best modules for it? Will speed and acceleration boosters be effective?

switch shield resistance for a ground nitrous fuel system. It also needs a high slot turret upgrade instead of those resistance amps. |

You HAVE to have your powergrid maxed to fit this.

I was thinking of an active heat sink with triple or double damage mods depending on your tank with an enhanced tracking computer. This would be a pure dps tank and used for rolling those 10k gallente armor tanks. |
