So as most of you know I've been all QQ my tank and stuffs, very like me.
Then it hit me.
Why don't we have our variants for tanks yet?
Almost every weapon in the game has multiple types at each skill level that function differently.
Even drop suits have either shield or armor capability, even more options.
Tanks, the 2 races we have now, have 3 variants,
Militia, standard, advanced.
There is no real difference between standard and advanced except a giant price jump.
Now, AV weapons have militia, standard, advanced, proto, proficiency proto and variants off different guns in each skill level.
Maybe I've been going at this wrong.
Maybe at each skill level we need a handful of different tanks that would fulfill different purposes.
1 made for anti infantry, 1 for anti tank fights, 1 for anti AV, 1 for anti air support.
Yes yes, we have different turret types currently, but maybe the slot layout and tanking capabilitys of each would differ as well as bonus's.
We're still missing tanks from 2 other races.
Idk I'm just going with it here, but I think there should be a variety of tanks and roles.
Like the guns and drop suits.
Proto Av kills madrugar solo with tactics, why?
We're using standard tanks.
Black ops was nothing special for proto, by any means.
Black ops should just be a variant of proto,
IE,
Black ops gets the sig reduction and troop transport, but another proto version is made to siege the battlefield,
Another proto version can with stand a lot of AV but can't kill troops as easily, just other vehicles.
Things like that, I don't know,

That would honestly be pretty cool.
Instead of gunner turrets make them remote repair mods with bonus,
Affect only other vehicles? Or infantry as well?
Since it'll prob be small reps.

I vision tanks being like t2 ships in eve.
Several different roles,
Different hulls as well.
ECM tank, like a falcon,
Not much tank, but has a cloak and a lot of ecm mods,
Maybe rendering radars inoperable, messing with precision strikes, messing up power systems on DS'
And stopping troop shield regeneration, even knocking out shields like flux grenades in a certain vicinity. |

C'mon guys where's the ideas?
I thought of another,
Command tanks,
They do no dps, but instead give bonus's to all troops in the vicinity
Extra shield and armor to troops, speed ect.
All kills in the vicinity the tank is giving out, the tank will receive WP's for.
It would be nasty to kill, by sacrificing firepower, it would have massive ehp via hp and high resistances. |
