Seriously, you are getting so much negative press that people won't even start to download it. I'm being honest here, I know several people that won't even bother because of how negative the reviews are. |

Maybe we know different people.
And they don't use THE INTERNET SCREAMING KEY to get attention. Seriously, many won't read posts that are headed by old cheap irritating ploys. |

I bought one because of dust. Please keep advertising. Keep building the playerbase.
By advocating the stoppage of advertising, you're kind of saying the same thing as "never ask anyone out, 'cause you'll mostly get rejected"
No one ever logged in to a game they never heard of. |

All those threads calling Dust a piece of sh*t and full of whiny people? I don't agree with them, but they probably could have been avoided if CCP had waited a little to go into OB. Advertising is just going to invite more complainers over. |

Yep. And more players as well. Once the game goes live CCP can blitz the advertising again. Then every six months as a new expansion comes out - more advertising.
Dust isn't going to disappear, despite complainers. Maybe one out of a thousand viewers thinks "hmm, that doesn't look so bad"

But is the amount of people who stay worth the amount of people who don't? Some of those people might never comeback. |

Only CCP can make that call, but I would guess most of those people wouldn't play dust anyway.
As it stands now, dust has, in about a month of open beta plus the closed, generated about 1/3 as many characters as took Eve 10 years. I don't know what the retention rate is, or how many players pony up for aurum, but no matter what speed that dust grows, so long as it grows, CCP is going to be happy I should think. |
