So...
The new AUR proto suits require lvl 3 drop suit skill to use. That's the same as giving people 1,940,160 sp for 160 AUR.
=[
The weapons are usually pay AUR for a level or two, but the SP for that is much less than the SP needed to go from racial dropsuit lvl3 to lvl5. Also, the weapon skills give some benefit to the player, and the player needs to max out the basic skill to get proficiency. The racial dropsuit skill gives no benefit other than the ability to use a better dropsuit.
-oh yah, I don't have dropsuit l2 on anything and I'm not getting proto or l2 or anything for a long time because i drive a tank (in case ppl think I don't like this because I grinded out a proto suit, because I did not ^.^) |

Meh, I won't spend any AUR on that anyways. I'm almost to Scout level 5. Spares me the $$$. |

This may not be true for all AUR items, I don't own any and haven't checked the stats for most; but while they are better than advanced gear, are they that much better? The Vk1 logi suit has four of everything, which rocks, but I didn't think that was true of the Vk0 model. Weren't the new suits continuations of the type 2 series, with slightly different stats from the vk1's? And without the mods to back up the suit, I think they'll still go down with a bit of teamwork. |

I might be killing those guys while using militia or basic gear. In fact I think the guys wiped out a squad and half of Aurum prototype wearing dust bunnies several times over until they gave up on the objective. Which now makes me wonder if they stopped storming our position because they were paying real cash for their gear. |

B-Series, Type-II, and the Vk1 for scout are better for skirmish, but in ambush not so much. It sacrifices the sidearm for an extra utility slot. These also favor armor over shield.
that's just my opinion. I've invested into scrambler pistol and can take out most suits with it before they take me out with their ARs |

The racial dropsuit skill gives no benefit other than the ability to use a better dropsuit. Sure, you can say it's giving them skillpoints... temporarily. Once you lose the dropsuit, it's lost. You'll need to buy it with more AUR. Every time you die, the same thing happens. It's not the same as just buying skillpoints. |

Best gear only available with cash, I'm conflicted. When wins matter.. Not pub matches.
