I know my last thread on this topic got locked within 1 min of its post. I will TRY to make this a discussion not a rant/rave thread.
LVL 3 prot aur suits.
I was so excited this week, wed would mark the day i was going to get my proto heavy. I would be one of the few Proto heavies i had seen yet. Bust alas when i awoke this morning i saw the new aur suits...... they need to go.
The neo A series aur suits were a great idea. they gave the new players a little more room to breath because of the extended highs/lows and fitting options.
These new suits will completely unbalance the game atleast IMO. People getting prot at lvl 3 is not good. They cost 160 aur granted but that is not even close to enough imo. Now what will seperate the REAL proto users from the AUR proto users........
I would like to hear everyones thoughts on this subject.

lol the joke's on you...Proto heavy suits suck! Unless CCP buff those suits, I'm not wasting SP to get them...not to mention the price tag. |

Wouldn't raising the price just make them even more P2W? I don't see how these are Pay 2 Win anyway though. It's still Pay to have an advantage sooner.
Edit: and lol at anyone who uses them for pub matches |

Meh who cares, that is my opinion. I will continue to earn my Proto the old fashion SP grind way.
Sh^t we are no where near end game yet so who cares about Proto gear anyway. 1-2 years from now when CCP gives us the endgame we will all be playing Planetside 2 on the PS4 anyway. |

dont mind the price too much i have been saving ISK since day 1 for proto heavies. They do suck compared to the logi or assault, but they fit in their own place and i cant wait for my 3 dmg mods.

I like this idea.. ccp needs to make a profit somehow plus I find that suits is no replacement for actual skill. |

Well, now there is no mechanism for balancing the use of the top-level suits via the in-game economy or Player Marketplace. The top-level items in the game should only be purchasable with ISK. |

Their joy won't last, either once others start earning legit protosuits(I've seen a couple before this) or once we get the in-game market. |

I can never understand the argument of skill > suits (better gear)
If that's the case then why aren't people using militia suits in corp matches? You know, since skill > suits...to be more precise, skill > proto gear... always makes me lol when i see people saying this.

CCP believes in time vs effort when it comes to paying real money. In eve people can buy plex and sell it for isk or they could mine/run missions for hours and hours to make that isk.
They bring the same perspective to dust. Right now sp is limited by time there for you spend aurum (like you would plex) to gain time. IN dust ccp equates time to sp since its a slow earn with pretty harsh limits when you hit your cap.
In time when players have enough sp for proto suits they don't have to spend aurum anymore. Hopefull for sake of the game ccp will have other aurum items for people to buy to support the game.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you still have to train skills in EVE, which takes time, to unlock items? Can you shortcut the training of skills by buying and spending PLEX? If not, I don't think your comparison is valid.
In EVE, you can use PLEX to fast-forward your ISK earnings.
In DUST, you can use AURUM to fast-forward your skill tree. |

Question, who cares? It's just a momentary advantage, one that that eventually becomes pointless once people get the SP to use the ISK protosuits( and I've seen a couple of those already last week) |

Question, why are you quoting me without addressing what I was saying at all. I'm just trying to get a handle on the differences between EVE and DUST and THAT matters if the person above me is using flawed logic as a justification for calling people scrubs.
