why is it that a prototype armor repair module will only repair 5HP per second? i understand that a lower tier will repair 2HP per second but shouldnt the higher tiers heal more than 5hp?

Indeed it doesnt sound like much, but its actually not bad. Considering unless youre in a fat suit, 5hp/s into 300 armor is fine, plus you could always fit 2 if you want 10.
If its too high then people would only be out of combat for seconds at a time after sustaining heavy damage. This way you cant sit there and get hammered and be like "I AM GOD!!!!" |

Basically, repairers are armour plates which become stronger the more you are damaged, without getting killed.
Say you nearly die and are left with 5 HP, with a total of 120. 23 seconds later, if you manage to hide for a while, that armour is restored. If you begun the game with 235 HP, it would've had the same result.
Say you nearly die five times. This effect is multiplied by five. The same effect is achieved if you had begun the game with 695HP.
Lets say you get 10 kills that game, all of them close calls with other assault users, resulting in you having 20 armour or less.
Given you give yourself time to regenerate after each kill, which isn't too hard if you play right, that's akin to starting a game at 1000HP or so, on an assault or scout suit, with no speed reduction.
Prototype assault suit with three of those? To borrow an underused phrase first applied to something to do with nanohives stacks: they would be... "Immortal." |

Yeah, the idea is not to sit out in the open actively regenning at a rate that makes your opponents cry, it's to get behind cover and allow them to do the work. At 5 hp/s, it's 2.5 times as fast as the regular reppers - that's a lot less time to wait for a full rep (and in reality, unless I am expecting to be shot at the second I leave cover, I head out after it's past the 70%-ish mark). |
