A lot of people in this game, non-Scouts too, concur that we need slight buff on the Scout suit.
After a few months and builds of playing exclusively a Scout, today I wanted to try something different -- I jumped into an Assault suit equiped with regular AR. Must say I was astonished. Second game in Ambush I went 28-4; WPs just kept coming at me match after match. To perform that well with my Scout as I did with this Assault I need to break my leg and get all wet from sweat.
And, best of all, I played Skinewave Assault, fitted with all Militia BPOs and for the first time I used iron sight AR! My usual Scout these days is ADV suit with nice and pricey Complex mods in high and low slots.
Basically I lost 0 ISK/AUR and was totaly relaxed during the game and the reward in WP/kills/ISK was same or greater than when I pull my best Scout suit (in which I have most experience) and play with utmost concentration.
Feel wierd now.
While no, I still do not think Assaults can do all the things Scout do, only better, there is definately big gap when it comes to risk and reward.
Please consider to fix the Scout ASAP -- we really need slight buffs on things that make our suit distinctive from others. Especially when it comes to movement speed (stafing!!!).

i play 2/3 scout, 1/3 assault.
i have never come to that conclusion.
my suggestion is you need to work on your scout suit or sniper skills.
out of curiosity (and boredom) whats your scout suit fit? |

Maybe you just suck at Scout and are good at Assault?
On a more objective note, Scout is total crap at medium range battles, where the Assault and Assault Rifle are at their best. The most common suit in game is the Assault. The most common gun is the Assault Rifle.
This is not a coincidence. |

Ok son, you dont take your rifle into the streets aiming at people 20 yards away, you aim at people several hundred yards away.
Next, AR and SR are not comparable, they do different things.
My guess is that you are just more of an assault man that a sniper in mentality, but dont get telling me that scouts crap because its not.
And im a better sniper than grunt.
EDIT: more assault rifles because its easier to shoot at someone close, than to nail someone several hundred yards away, having much patience at the same time. |
