Kinetic Deflector Shields -
Activates once every few seconds to completely ignore damage on a single hybrid weapon round. This counts for railguns, assault rifles, scrambler pistols, sniper rifles, SMG's and blasters. This is obviously more useful against railguns and sniper rifles due to their lower rate of fire. Having it work on laser rifles would be hilarious as well, really changing up how laser rifles work against scouts, but probably not worth trying to balance
The idea behind this is to allow scouts to flank or rush straight at a distant target like a sniper or rail tank more effectively without giving them any noticeable advantage in head to head combat.
Balance considerations could include having it built into the scout suits themselves with a lower cooldown on higher meta levels or simply giving scout suits a massive cpu and pg reduction on these modules.
I think reactivation time for the deflection effect should be modified by skills and the shield modulator items for low slots, having them compete with catalyzers or the sprint speed increasing items to make for more fitting variety. |

What you basically asking for is a shield resist module for infantry. Which are sort of coming maybe.
Igonoring a single round is way OP. A 5-15% damage resist module does the same thing essentially.
For example: An assault rifle does 30damg per shot. with a 10% damage resist (thats negating 3 damage) over a long enough period of time it essentially nullifys one shot. Which is kind of the same thing only in a fairer way. |

yh especially since this would otherwise allow for invulnerability against forge gunswhereas the 10% thing is better as 90% of a forge gun shot is still OVER KILL |

I don't like this either. Even when it's nerfed, it will still be OP in my opinion. |

SMG is a Projectile weapon, not Hybrid.
I have issues with it, personally. Namely, the fact that a scout can simply shrug off a direct shot from a rail gun seems bass ackwards. Sounds a lot more like something a Heavy would be able to do, and even then I'm not really sure I'd be okay with it. |
