I have to reload and restock every time i'm out of ammo. I don't get why Tanks get the easy cards?

Because we have no cargo bay, no ammo to buy to store in the cargo bay, no fuel tank either then again we could be using nuclear fusion reactors
You know what i dont get? why can milita weapons easily destroy a tank, milita weapons are easy cards |

Its a good point, id love to see turrets with he same ammo system as everything else, could even have mods to increase ammo capacity. It would be cool to have limited ammo in HAV's/LAV's/DS's, you can make the choice, do you carry more ammo to shoot longer but lose a low/high slot or do you use that slot for your tank and increase your survivability.
Not so sure about fuel, maybe having a capacitor EvE style that drains as you drive but recharges over time... might work but not sure id go for that myself. |

tanks are slow to drive. Driving a tank over a nanohive would be very boring
Also, from my experience in public matches, if I got out of the tank to throw a nanohive, someone would steal my tank, they are like that on public matches
Infinite ammo is not really that helpful to tanks. AV grenades, swarm launchers and other tanks are constant threats. |

Armor tank all low slots damage mods and a railgun against a tank which prob maybe had about 7k shields, driver cannot react to the 1st shot i he does not know a tank is on the field, so at least 3k shot hits 1st then driver trys to react while 2nd shot is launched and finally the 3rd shot kills the tank
Yea its not that hard, i killed 3 tanks in less than 30secs with a similar setup
The advanced tanks we have suck tbh, the advantages to go up from a gunlogi/madrugar are outweight by the price/SP/stats
That said i will end up skilling for them still |

Strictly from a strategic standpoint this could be very interesting. It's easy to dismiss it based on the standard we've grown accustomed to with games like battlefield but as many have said before me, this is dust. Incidentally, the logic of having unlimited fuel and more specifically ammunition makes the most sense in dust given the technology of nanohives and the assumption that they are built into vehicles. However, even as ground troops we do not have an indefinite supply of hives.
- hives could have to be replenished at supply depots(good reason not to destroy them or request thier deployment when we have that ability) - integrated vehicle nanohives could be a skill/equipment - greater value and more defined role of vehicle logis as a result of changes
Not saying I'm all for it but it is at least an interesting idea. |

I wouldn't mind having a limited amount of ammo if we get some tank back.
But I think the reason we have unlimited ammo is that we have a giant nanohive in the tank for ammunition. |

I've always assumed that a deployed tank would come with a full compliment that really wouldn't ever run out in normal combat situations. Consider, for example.. running out of ammo if you've got a cargohold stocked to the brim in any ship in EvE never had that problem unless you skipped resupplying between sorties.
Considering that these tanks are used and thrown away.. it makes sense with how they work here. |

Hey! Share the wealth! the least you can do is somehow make up for the lack of supply depos -_-
Anywhoodle, I think tanks/vehicles in general should have "cargo areas" where they store ammo. but only after CCP gives us different ammo types. then the tanker can choose his loads, and also how much large/small ammo onboard (no S ammo means the S turrets are useless, but more L ammo.) that would be far more logical. |

This is one of those things people have been asking since the start. Why do tanks get to sit atop hills and spam fire down on distant targets the entire game without needing to move? Who knows. Maybe CCP plans on one day adding in an ammunition component. I hope they do, as it'd make things more interesting and make vehicle usage/countering vehicles a deeper sort of part of the gameplay. |

Completely agree tanks should use ammo like spaceships do. Different ammo types, and lasers with cheap crystal being the only unlimited ammo (working vs. overheat issues). |

I'm pretty sure it's because HAVs (and all vehicles) are intended to be limited by capacitor, which isn't in the game yet.
That said, I kinda do hope they implement cargo bays and different ammo types at some point. Being able to alter your optimal range, damage amount, and damage type (sometimes with penalties such as tracking speed) in EVE is a really cool feature, and I'd like to see it here.
They could add in ammo supply boxes that can be called in to restock. It would make for some interesting elements added to the game. |

I could see the ammo thing but then again maybe they have built in nanohives? And fuel running out would just be stupid, even in today's society we can keep a aircraft carrier running for up to 7 years off of nuclear power, I'm pretty sure this far into the distant future they would have figured out how to scale down a nuclear reactor to the point that it fits on a tank. |

They can't, unless you've been driving a crap militia tank. Try using that militia weapon on a real tank.

Um wait yeah they should have a limit to ammo. Eve ships do and they have even more cargo space.
Oh and for that matter the laser weapons for dropsuits shouldn't use ammo. Those should be the overheat type weapons that never run out of ammo but overheat. So in otherwords the current blaster turrets should be how lasers work. And turrets should gain ammo just like anything else in this game. That's atully a really fair balance.
Whats the worst that will happen? You'll have to jump out and drop a nanohive? oh god help us.
But yeah unlimited ammo for a MISSILE TURRET. Just... think about that. just a little bit. |

On the laser bit, I imagine that EvE ships power the laser through their own power systems, which is why they wouldn't require ammunition.
DUST mercs on the other hand, don't come with a power plant strapped to their back. That's what necessitates the use of what are essentially batteries to power the hand held laser weaponry. |
