Does this mean the skill points you receive in battle will be increased 50%, but once you reach weakly skill cap that would be 50% of like 200sp making it not worth getting unless you're at the start of a weed?
Also does the bonus SP count towards weekly cap, in other words does this just make your SP gain faster, so you don't have to play as many games, or does it enable 50% total bonus SP that week compared to someone without the active booster on?
edit: Also what is the weekly SP soft cap amount? |

The active booster increases the SP you earn from matches by 50%, as well as increases your cap for the week by 50%. If/when you do hit the cap, you're still getting 50% more until the booster runs out or the cap resets. So, if you're capped, you'll get 1500 SP instead of 1000 SP (as long as you contribute enough in battle.)
I believe the weekly soft cap without a booster is 190,000 and with a booster it's around 280,000.
I hope I helped. |

That helps a lot. So lets say I'm capped for the week. There is no loss in using the weekly active booster because my cap will be raised 50% as well as getting 50% more per match? |

Correct. In a way you'll reach the cap at the same speed because you're gaining SP faster but also have a larger cap to reach. Active boosters are great, I highly suggest them. |

Not sure if activating a booster after hitting the weekly cap will give you the 50% boost in cap but it would still boost the hard cap of a 1000 to 1500 per match so i wouldn't waste a weekly one on seeing if you get the boosted cap I would suggest maybe trying a 1 day one so as to not waste a week if it will not get you the extra 95,200 an active booster will give you for the weekly cap |

You bring up a good question actually. I would assume that any 'bonus' SP you earn expands the SP limit. I don't think that the act of activating a booster for 1 day will raise the cap by 50% for the entire week, that would not be a very good business plan on CCP part.
I think how it works is that if you say use a 3-day booster and hit your cap within those 3 days, you'll get the full benefit of the booster increasing the limit. However if lets say you only get half of your cap done in those 3 days, the total limit for the week would only increase by 25%, instead of the full 50%.
Some Dev insight on this would actually be much appreciated. I'm running out of 30 day boosters and I want to know if I should buy 7 day or 3 day boosters from the market. |

Currently the active weekly cap is 190400 and then you go to the soft cap which is WP = SP upto a max of 1000 SP per battle. The active booster boosts all games by 50%. Therefore you gain an extra 95200 extra SP reaching the active cap I.e if you reach the cap you will have earned 285600 SP. Once you have reached the soft cap you will still gain extra SP at 50% as others have said.
When you use a one week booster depends on how fast you usually reach the weekly cap. If you struggle to get to the cap within a week then you may want to use it at the start of the week.
However if you cap out in less than a week especially if it only takes you 3-4 days then you may want to have the booster crossover into 2 different weeks. For example I generally take about 3 and a half days to reach the cap and I received a 7day active booster when I bought the merc starter pack.
So I decided to not play Wednesday to Friday to avoid the extra SP you get at the start of the week. I then started playing on Saturday after activating the 7 day booster. It looks like I will hit the cap on Monday and then I will do the usual SP grind through Tuesday. But what is important is that I will have Wednesday through Friday (3 days) of the following week to gain even more SP.
So instead of just getting the 95200 SP if I had started the booster at the beginning of the week (Wednesday) I will gain an extra 50 - 75000 SP on top of that maximising the use of a 7 day booster. For those who max out even faster they will gain max boosted SP for 2 weeks instead of one. |

You are correct. & if you can hit your cap in 3 days, then you will receive the full amount for the week. This is the reason why we originally had a daily cap & why this is just a temporary fix. As this is not the best solution for CCP, since it discourages the purchase of 7 day boosters. |

Buying the merc pack will save you 28,000 AUR on 4 active boosters that you could rather use on 4 passive boosters for even more weekly SP and extra AUR for equipment!!! |

Yes given a choice go with the merc pack as it is the best deal by far. I just wish they would bring out a new one with different equipment and BPO like a Assualt or Heavy Suit BPO with a Mass Driver BPO.
Imagine the day of play if that came out |

yeah buying the merc pack is the most cost efficient way of getting active boosters. plus you get shinier stuff you can sell when markets finally open. you can also then use the 40k aurum to buy passive boosters if you wish to catch up with folk who have played longer. i got the half price merc packs with psn plus and hammered passive and active boosters going and i'm now beginning to catch up with teammates. but as has been stated, the active boosters increase weekly cap to around 285k, plus you can get upto 1500 a match when you hit skill cap and with a passive booster that gives you around an extra 80k sps a week too |

Using the bolster after you've reached cap will not get you the extra 95200 sp. You need to use it before you actually gain any sp for the week. |
