I see people saying things on both sides of the fence. I want to know if it's only for your squad or the whole team. Someone recently said that since all the "no squad" players are in a squad together (kinda a paradox) that so many people can use one uplink. But I don't know because you get +25 for TEAM SPAWN, not squad spawn (it'd be cool to get more points for a squad spawn, just sayin'). So what is the OFFICIAL WORD of how these things work? They are the key to winning any match REGARDLESS even if only you use them (I learned this from Killzone 2, WHERE MY VETS AT?!). |

Whut, it's pretty clear. CAN THE WHOLE TEAM USE YOUR UPLINK OR JUST YOUR SQUAD. |

The entire team may use your drop uplinks. Regardless of squad position. |

Jariel Manton wrote:The entire team may use your drop uplinks. Regardless of squad position. than why does no one ever do it. like even once.
unless ambushes are completely different, because that is the only time i see up links light up other than where my squad puts one. |

For crying out loud. No they cant be used by the entire team if you yourself are in a squad.
Any instances where that occurs is due to bugs with the hacked uplink. The hacked upling USED to allow for TEAM spawning, now it DOES NOT, instead it spawns you in 5% faster.
I know this because ive tested this in corp battles. Uplinks are squad limited.
That said in ambush every now and again non squad members are able to spawn in on uplinks. Add to this evidently all players in the the NO SQUAD category are grouped together and benefit from spawn uplinks placed by anyone else in the NO squad category. This has been confirmed in ambush, though unclear if it works in skrimish as well.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is just wrong or doesnt recognize that the instances where it works differently is due to a bug.
unless you've actually had two squads communicating in team chat about the placement of hives and tested if members of another squad can spawn on in on your uplinks (which by my testing they can in ambush, skrimish or CB, unless it bugs) then you just dont know what you're talking about and simply confusing the issue further. Just stop.
Someone needs to ask CCP how uplinks are intended to work and then ppl need to continue to test setting up the experimental design in the way i suggested.
There is way too much anecdotal and associative evidence being offered up as fact. Please STOP DOING THAT.

I've never had a blue dot spawn from my uplinks until the "no squad" squad was default for soloers.
Spawns at all were rare, and now that my "squad" consists of 80%+ of the team it's quite common
I get that anecdotal evidence isn't real evidence but it's pretty compelling to me. |

but I asked: In what way does this question differ from the several other identical questions on this topic?
If it doesn't, and these past questions have been answered, why dont you simply go read those, instead of posting the 24th instance of this question? |

Personally, depending on the type of tactical situation I'm looking at I think I'd prefer to gear specificly for a team spawn uplink or a squad specific uplink. So maybe they should be offereing both types at different meta levels.
If I'm trying to be stealthy, squad only.
If I'm trying to get a force behind enemy lines, full team. |
