So.
interesting launch, but left a couple of questions re Dust.
You had Blizzard on stage talking about Diablo 3 on PS4
You had Activision on stage introducing Bungie as a partner in the development of Destiny - a persistan MMOt FPS game world, which sounds like it will be multi platform.
So where was CCP, with Dust? |

CCP isn't a big player yet.
Once we see DUST get released and pull some good numbers, this will change. |

The only thing i hope is the fact that the dust will never die once they release the game and i feel that the game can't offer something up yet. Hope the next update will mean something |

Everyone would be like dust? WTH is that?
people would probably think there was an issue with the ps4 collecting dust in the vents or something. |

Why? Cosmetic change to unreal engine IV and you will take back your words.
Games can be simply for the first look and 'monster' when you go for it.
Sony change own politics of developing games. Early, they sold for little fortune its development kit. Only reason was: Only developers that have money can make quality products.
Now they says 'We love independed' developers and here is a lot of titles with indy games. They change main procesor for x86 ... for easiest use already maked tools for developers. Sony want more 'briliant' ideas no matter how they look and who make it.
You know... Dust 514 is one of unpolished gems among them and will be very good game. |

CCP had been on vacation due to Chinese new year for almost a month, they probably didn't get the voicemail from Sony to attend, so they were left out.
Shame they weren't working all year around like the rest of the world (or at least the US, where adults don't get summer vacations unless they save up vac time for several years... and even then its only a few weeks). |

CCP would of only embarrassed themselves presenting PS3 beta footage of a game far from release. |

According to the list compiled by Destructoid, it seems as though CCP still hasn't applied for or received a PS4 Dev kit...

Have too look for the Sony PDFs to see if they are listed or not. |

KAGEHOSHI, even if it were a launch, CCP not having been listed as having a PS4 Dev Kit means they couldn't have participated in the conference. (restating this because it is relevant to your post and the OP)
So for now DUST remains PS3 only... not that it has fully released for the PS3 either... yet. |

I want a polished PS3 release product before CCP even thinks about PS4. Planning ahead so you are in a good position to take advantage of the new platform is one thing, that's just smart. But diverting your energies before you have good product is another thing entirely, and foolish.
The ps4 means a client-side change with lots more goodies, true. But everything that's interesting about DUST happens server-side on a single shard. That's why i'm here, that's why most of us are here - for the vast, real, alternate universe that is New Eden, where our triumphs and failures will be written into history, and be known and remembered by millions of players.
I think the fact that CCP is not on that list is a good thing.
One thing that struck me about the announcement last night is how well CCP's and SONY's respective visions align - I can see why the partnership, they're a natural match.
My take on why CCP wasn't part of last night's lineup is that every developer on that stage had to be instantly recognizable to the PS3 gaming public. Blizzard wasn't there because they were doing a port of an already-released game, they were there because of the brand recognition they bring to the platform.
I'm thinking it's fairly obvious SONY is fully invested in DUST, and excited about what CCP is bringing to the table. CCP's time on the stage is not yet, but it is coming. |

Honestly at this point I don't care about ps4 dust. All I want is SOMETHING! ANYTHING! JUST PUT SOMETHING ELSE IN! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CCP! PLEASE?!?
this last few months of beta I have yet to see anything innovative besides the tranquility merge..
How much patience does CCP thinks we have??

I'll tell you where CCP was at that moment.
They were doing their jobs like we wanted them to. Honestly I would care less about publicity or marketing. Besides, I'm pretty sure people would be critical of CCP for heavily marketing an incomplete game anyways. |
