So I play a Logi and never played as a sniper, except for once at the beginning of the month for one clone life. There I was with sights bouncing around not hitting anything and then got counter sniped.
So today I played a game on Pub Ambush and died 4 times in about 1 minute and decided it was time to hide. So I chose the free starter sniper and went to the top of a building (NOT redzone) and had my bouncing view again.
However, this time I remembered somebody post on the forum that the HMG is more accurate if you kneel down. So I figured why not the sniper rifle and bingo all the bounce went away and it was as steady as a rock.
Obvious to anybody who plays a sniper or been playing this game a lot but still nice when you learn it for yourself.

Crouching is great if you're being sneaky sneaky, not so great if you're crouch walking at someone shooting you in close-quarters combat haha. |

Yeah done that by accident a few times. Playing as a logi the tough thing to do is watch for bad guys while switching between equipment types and your weapon. Died too many times because the coast looked clear and you go to revive/rep someone and a bad guy comes round the corner etc and I can't switch to my AR fast enough.
I have figured out if you partially depress R2 trigger you can switch back to the AR but press to far i.e panic, and you just end with the equipment wheel displayed and then you die.
I would prefer to be able to assign the equipment to the d-pad (the big circle with the cross on it) while R2 switches you back to your weapon.
While in battle the start button could be used to bring up a modified menu for off map support etc. as you need to be in a relatively safe position to use OMS.
Of course I would like to be able to modify all the controls so I can switch around the triggers but I figure that will be available at some point. :-) |

I've found close quarters with the sniper rifle (I'm not skilled into it at all) just takes dying a few times. Even with no skill to negate the sway, I can get a headshot while strafing (very slowly, but every little bit helps).
Depending on how they're attacking, a well-time crouched can help. |

Doesn't it pop up on your screen to crouch to steady aim when you spawn with a sniper, like EVERY time?
Just saying.
But congrats on the "find" |

Not that I have noticed but next time I will look more carefully. Then again I have only chosen sniper twice and always part way through the game. |

Snipers aren't automatically not contributing.
That's an especially derpy comment, considering the context is "I usually play Logi and just experimented with sniper." |
