Hi,
I have a question regarding the "open beta to full release" move... will there be another major skill point rest in the future or will it be unnoticeable.
Thanks! |

That is not entirely correct and you know it.
I won't believe it until CCP state it without any qualification.
And then I would have my doubts. |

nothing like putting all your points in gallente tanks just to have the amarr tanks get pumped out and you are screwed with a tank you don't want. |

"Reset" as in "give you back the skill points" *facepalm*
I hear they never did that for EVE though, so I doubt it. |

Hypothesising, I think the marketing guys would have a "unforeseeable shitstorm" if pub stomping of new players because a player percentage were crazy advanced led to profits heading south.
Remember this is the same people told you everyone wanted $1,000 jeans.
It wouldn't have to be a wipe, could be a major gimp. Or an crazy SP boost on release for new players compared to you guys leaving your advantage null and void after a few weeks. Have CCP ruled that out? They did similar in EVE.

He made a mistake by speccing into the only heavy suit available to him? Get your facts straight first. |

Well the game is public and free, so if people join when it's officially released, it's their loss. I wouldn't be surprised if many players have just made accounts and left passive sp running until they deem the game worthy of their attention and time.

Ya this sucks for anyone that decided to get a hi tiered dropsuit without filling up your passives first. There are so many things that make your suit better if you skill in to them before going ADV or PROTO gear. Get your CPU up, PG up, shields and armor, weaponry, light/ heavy weapon upgrades, there are hacking skills, sharpshooter and reload skills and many others you could have spent your SP into.
This is how the world works, early adopters usually get the short end of the stick because you now there will be better stuff down the road. I run A series and am now in the process of filling out my passives to fit better equipment.
So I have no sympathy for those that spent all their SP racing to the best gear. Not our fault you have no foresight and are impatient.
But if they do reset the SP spent into suits I won't cry about it cause chances are that I would put it into another suit, I just don't think we need to. |

I still have 2 million refunded sp on my eve character from when they removed and changed some skils.
It does happen, and yes it's awesome to be able to insta skill up to fly any ship I want when released. |

For the record - I only put enough SP into suits to get Type-II. I've thrown all my SP into passives. So the advice I just quoted is a very good one. |

When the learning skills were removed, the sp was refunded. The destroyer and battle cruiser skills used to be non-racial, they were split into 4 and the skills were gained in all 4 if you had them. This was announced in advance so everyone had chance to train them before it happened.
So, based on eve precedence. if a skill[list] is removed, the sp will probably be refunded.
If a non-racial skill is split by races, we will probably be given all racial versions at same level.
(I think the racial weapons will get new catagories that don't list race, not be split. for example gallente ar will be ar skill, and caldari battle rifle skill) If a new racial version of a type is added along side an existing, we will probably get nothing changed just new. This is what I think will happen with suits.
They did say no reset, a faster sp gain for new players in future seems like probable approach they'll take, if needed. |
