Think about this
We all know blueberries are idiots
And if the MCC commander role is suppose to be kinda like a RTS then...why are we controling soldiers with a mind of their own?
Example
Starcraft: Comander: hey you! Go kill that guy Soilder: YES SIR! OORAH
DUST 514: Comander: hey you! Go cap that point Blueberry: STFU
This worked in MAG because it was simply a point and click order and not promoted as a RTS
I may be over thinking this sure but thoughts? |

I may be over thinking this sure but thoughts? There'll be rewards for following commands like any other game - and for corps not following the commanders orders is a great way to get banned. So considering this I think the idea is fine - just not applicable in the pub games.
Long as they make the role something to skill into people will take it seriously. And people LOVE to feel involved - so it may work out well. But there's plenty of reason to doubt it. |

I would imagine it would just like MAG. The commander gives orders to squads, if they do it they will earn much more points than if they did whatever they wanted, except the commander can drop Installations on the battlefield. I doubt it will be a big feature on Pub matches, though it'll sure be a game changer for Corp battles. |

Well commander rewards the players who do well
he puts down way points on the map he wants people to go to and if a player is following orders he get bonus points
"ever play nuclear dawn" the game has a awesome command system though i know the battle field really well so i go off and focus on things like caping resource points behind enemy lines
braining down heavys and engis
and if im in the area my commander wants me to be bonus points for me :3
but when you get a soldier that ignores the commander and attempts to flank the whole enemy team like a pro and gets gunned down by a turret well its his own damn fault but at the same time this bring some attention off the main line and onto his location so its a ifi thing if you have some people who know what they are doing and some people following orders and some people running around like autistic retards all the commander can do is buff players and what not |

A problem with this may be in certain match a random blueberry scrub gets that role then things may not be so dandy for his team when he messes up the orders and lose the match for everyone because he convinced a squad to kill a random sniper that's out of the way instead of capping a cru for the team to spawn at. |

Commanders in pub matches are always going to have less of a point since most of the materials magically appear from your benefactors. Of course if you follow orders you'll still get a point bonus so there isn't much reason not to.
Commanders where it counts on the field fighting for territory need to be wary of not just the battle at hand, but upcoming battles. If you lose all your RDVs due to good AA/fighters then all of your expensive HAVs, fighters, and dropships are stuck, so once they start going down you cut off RDV deliveries to your squads and cut your losses for this battle. If your Eve-side logistics fleet gets ganked and you lose a shipment of CRUs you have to work around that, put more men on defending the CRUs you do have, deploy less of them, etc. |
