I experimented with using a move controller the other day. Is anyone using this as their primary controller?
Aiming was outstanding, and I was just holding the controller and pointing it at the screen. Being able to target someone without turning around was great, especially for CQC. Turning around on purpose, though, was a bit of a mission. You have to move the reticle to the edge of the screen, so can't track someone who is running outside of your field of view very well.
I'm wondering if it's easier to move around with a proper gun cradle instead of the move alone, otherwise I feel like you'd have to push the reticle to the side of the screen, then bring it back to aim. With the reticle free to move around, it would be a lot more comfortable to control the camera with something other than the move controller.
Anybody got experience with this? |

haven't tried it, but I would think your wrist is faster and more precise than your arms holding an object while you ADS. |

I tried it for sniping, worked great! Got the gun cradle for KZ3 and loved it (treat it like a paintball gun, really fast track speed and pinpoint accuracy) but for dust, if you aren't sniping or in CQC (requiring you to turn around and chase someone, or track them) its much easier to use DS3 or KB/M. Move is just clunky and any serious prolonged play is really hard to keep up in that position. |

I thought it'd be nice if when the move is off-camera, the controller is default, so I can just pick it up for certain situations. |

I've posted on feedback many times on this subect.
Yes I have tried the Sharp Shooter attachment and love it in most games that are able to utilize it well.
Other games such as KZ3 MAG and Socom 4 have all done a good job with it and hope CCP follows through.
With the SS the aim is fluid and brings tons of immersion. I would like to see the pump action do the reload instead of the reload button on the bottom of the gun (taking your hand off of the stick that moves you is a great disadvantage). The gun needs to move around the screen to where it is you're aiming and not in one locked spot.
While in ADS the gun and frame lock in and has a tiny dot that moves where you aim. This is ok until you try aiming down or up higher. The screen does not easily move and your gun blocks most of the screen when you are aiming and doesn't move.
The great thing about the gun is that most of your fingers are on a button so you never have to take your finger away.from.the trigger or your thumb off a stick to push a button. The only one that is hard to get use to is taking your thumb off of the stick to push "x" which is used to cap objectives.
I think I remember wakko uses the move but not sure. Until they properly utilize this feature I'm stuck with the DS3 but would love to pick this back up and have some good fun.
just like.learning any other form of controls this takes awhile to learn but once you get the hang of it, it is one of the funnest ways to play a FPS.
Try to adjust your dead zones in options to reduce the amount you have to drag your crosshairs for the screen to move.
In all it is fun but a long way from being finished but has came a long way from closed beta. |

I was referring to the sharp shooter as well, I just now remembered that there is just a handgun cradle that can be used. I agree with Belzeebub that the pump action would be nice for reload but if memory serves, the square button still works for reload and is conveniently located under your thumb on your right hand on the grip of the gun, leaving your left hand (right handed player) to stay on the movement stick. |

I still wish DUST had come to Xbox and Kinect, at least then I could convince my wife that not only am I playing a game, but I'm getting tons of exercise doing it....of course after the first match, I'd just switch to sniper so I could be lazy for a bit....lol.
As for the Move, I just can't get into it. I don't like it nearly as much as the Wii controllers. |

I've got the KZ3 rifle Move holder and really wanted to like it.
As others have stated it works great when a game is on rails, but it fails when your character has to spin and move independently. Having to aim off screen to turn is clunky and anything but smooth. You have to spin past your target to get it centered in the screen and that just isn't natural. It would be far better if there were a separate control for movement, perhaps foot operated.
I think it works better for operating turrets, but it's a pain to switch between the Move and the DS3. I'll probably use a combination of DS3 and a mouse in the future. |

Okay belz alt here doing a report from the beta testing grounds:
After a redline from L.O.T.I.S. running my logi starter fit (really ccp a SMG to start?) going 4-3 killing one well known poster (piercing serenity) with my move and sharpshooter (ya suck it!) I can confirm that the square button is jump andd the triangle button is melee (how I killed said merc ) that are both located just above the trigger. X button is to change your stance and circle is to hack and enter exit vehicles. The move button changes weapons and if you hold it down you can pick your items. L1 and L2 still do the same things.
All the animations in the above post by my alt is still there and needs to be addressed. To reload one has to take their whole hand off of the nav controller push the button on the bottom of the gun and replace it back on the controller all during game play. Very dumb mechanic and needs to change, maybe be able to map our own buttons? |

the only shooter i see that would work well with kinect would be ghost recon future soldier because u can move from cover to cover by aiming where u want to go and pressing a button.

I didnt have any of the equipment for the move so I bought the eye.the move the navi,the charger and the SS for SOCOM.That was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent in my life.ADS/sniping is a joke.When in real combat or playing paintball soldiers do not run around with the gun attached to there face this is what you have to do with the move other wise your guy will be looking at the ground.You cannot marathon with the SS and you cannot play better than a person using a DS3.I have proved this to clan mates and people that like the SS time and time again.It always ends up with me winning with the DS3.
Move is not for FPS...imo
I personaly applaud CCP for not wasting anymore time on this aspect of the game. |

Ummm not sure what you ment by running around with the gun to your face?
You can calibrate it to any position that you want. I used to calibrate it with it tucked to my shoulder like a real rifle but it is not a good place to be playing games. I know calibrate it on my hip or lap since I'm sitting while I use it. With it here one can see the whole screen and the gun doesn't get in the way, you start watching your reticle more than trying to aim the gun around.
I can and have done very well with the SS in all games that I tried it in. The only reason you think you can own people on it is because it is a totally different control scheme and you have to get use to it. Just like most KB+M users can dominate DS3 players but there are those outliers. |

How is the Move support now? It wasn't very good when I played last. The best support for it i've seen would be in Counter Strike Global Offensive. Ks3 and Socom 4 had great support as well. Especially Socom 4 with that SS trick that allows you to use some of the SS features on a vanilla psMove. In CS:GO. the camera moved a bit as you moved the pointer and you would never really move the cursor too far from the center of the screen. |
